10-Ton Hydraulic Cable Lug Crimper 12 AWG-2/0 AWG with 9 Dies

Love this so I can make nice cables for the cars and stuff I also read that the unit can be used to attach cables for railings also. That is a bonus.

This review is for the green UTZIKO 10 US TON Hydraulic Cable Lug Crimping tool. Date, 7/2023. Okay, I'm old and have been working with hand tools since the age of 5. So, I'd like to think that I know a good tool when I see one. First impression of this tool is wow, this is built like a tank. The tool does have a quality look, and feel. Especially for the price point that it sells at. (this one was under $40 us) I looked, and read what seemed like an endless amount of reviews for this, and the other popular type of tools like this. Most of these tools seem like they are the same tool with a different name attached. Pretty sure that for the most part...they are the same. This model had one option that was only found on a much more expensive model and, having that option was why I picked this tool over the countless others like it. The option? A return spring on the plunger that returned the handle to the top of its stroke. I gambled that this tool was actually the more expensive model being sold under a different brand. Back to these tools being pretty much the same. I do believe that this tool should give many years of service if, it isn't abused, always has clean oil, and is only used for home use. No... this is not a professional grade tool! If you're a pro, spend the money and buy a professional grade tool! Don't be one of those morons that buy a tool for home use and then write a bad review when the tool fails in a year because it was used on the job everyday! I was impressed with the quality of this crimper, and I am not one that is impressed easily. If a product is junk, I have no problem saying so, and often do. The darker green model was the only model that I saw with a return spring on the plunger. Good luck.

Works great for making your own battery cables

This works well but the dies don't line up exactly. Does it do the job? Yes, if you are careful when inserting the terminal. I have 8AWG wire & 8 AWG terminals (at least that is what they are labeled as) but the 8 AWG die was to large. I used the 10 AWG die and didn't crimp down all the way & it turned out fine.

I replaced my battery cable ends on both batteries with ease using this. It did an excellent job of crimping. If I never have to use this again it was worth the money for this one time use. The size fit well except I had a little trouble crimping the 2/0 enough to appease my ocd. I ended up using the 1/0. The 1/0 die was a little small but I ended up with a better crimp. The case is durable enough to do its job. All dies were there as advertised & are easy to swap out.

Works fantastic. Quick and easy crimping. 4 gauge lugs crimped tight and right.. easy to use

Delivered quickly. Worked great on 6 Ga. lugs. 2/0 lugs are next. It seems very well made and didn't leave "ears" on my cable ends as some have reported. Continued to crimp until I ran out of strength. Pull-tested the ends and they held. I used the 6 Ga dies with no problems. Some reported that they had to go down a size, but that was not my experience, at least not on the 6 Ga. ends.

After buying a cheap crimper and getting frustrated with bad crimps, I thought I'd try this one. Now my crimps are perfect and solid. Easy to operate one handed by slowly closing on the lug.
