Great for mums. Gluten free thins work too.
I donโt know why some reviewers say gluten free bread doesnโt work. I tried the Warburtons gluten free thins (with banana and nutella), 5-10 min in the airfryer (yes of course without the actual plastic Crimpit as it would melt). Yum. Sealed well at the edges too. I donโt keep breads in the fridge which might make the difference here? I also made my kidโs sandwiches (not toasted) today as she always leaves her crusts. I made these with our regular sliced half/half factory bread. A bit of ham with wiped cucumber (with kitchen roll to dry some of the juice off to stop sogginess) and another one with ham and a bit of lettuce. Crimped in seconds and the crusts came right off. (I might start collecting those in the freezer to make breadcrumbs now that I am dealing with clean crusts lol). I pressed the bread a bit flat with a spoon first to make it thinner which took all of a second. Neat little pocket of sandwich which then slotted nicely in those reusable silicone ziplock food pouches. Eco points for mum on two counts! (Except of course for buying a plastic gadget in the first place but not throwing crusts out every day and not using foil or plastic wrap should hopefully all help over time). Weโll see if she likes the taste but I am looking forward to receiving her lunchbag without the usual nibbled crusts today! All in all highly recommended for mums, and people who are bored of gluten free sandwiches. I agree the price is very high for a bit of plastic but I guess thatโs what you get if you buy the latest gadget craze. Itโs very sturdy but could/should be half the price.

Dear CRIMPiT where have you been all my life?
๐ฅช This is a review for The CRIMPiT - A toastie maker for Thins - Make toasted snacks in minutes - Healthy toasted snacks - Designed especially to work with low-calorie Thin bread.โ ๏ธ Please do not put any part of the plastic CRIMPiT in the toaster, air fryer or any other appliance or heat source that may melt the PLASTIC. ๐คฆโโ๏ธ It crimps bread it doesn't defy the laws of physics.๐ฆ The item came well packaged in a cardboard envelope. Inside was a presentation box and the CRIMPiT itself.Things I like:โ๏ธ Nicely presented in a box with an instruction and a recipe card.โ๏ธ There's a QR code inside which takes you to a page where you can view some more recipes, which is a nice little added bonus.โ๏ธ Easy enough to use, though sometimes you do have to use a bit of pressure to get the bread crimped correctly.โ๏ธ As long as you don't inadvertently melt the CRIMPiT it's easy enough to clean, there should only ever really be some dropped filling or breadcrumbs, which can easily be wiped off.โ๏ธ CRIMPiT has confirmed that this item is BPA-free and uses non-toxic plastics.โ๏ธ The CRIMPiT is dishwasher (but not toaster) safe.โ๏ธ When used correctly, it makes delicious toasted thins, it feels like you're eating a toastie.โ๏ธ CRIMPiT sent an email following a purchase with advice on how to use it, including to reiterate that you shouldn't put this in the toaster, this was a nice little touch as well, it's nice to see something like this when a business goes out of their way to say thank you.Things I don't like:โ This is not necessarily the fault of CRIMPiT but some bread thins are uneven and don't fit correctly, which means you may have to trim the edges to get it to fit in the (what I like to call crimp zone).โ Sometimes does need a lot of pressure, so if you have particularly weak upper body strength, you may need some help getting crimpy with it.The bottom line:๐ป If you're looking for a healthier alternative to toasties you make in a toastie machine, this may be for you. Bear in mind, however, that this crimps the side of bread, it's not groundbreaking, it's not some amazing technology it's literally some plastic grooves. This quickly and easily prepares thins for you so you can toast or air fry them to golden brown perfection. We've used both 50/50 and white thins and they both work a treat, and I imagine wholemeal will work just as perfectly as well. This is great and does exactly what it says it does.4/5 - A great product!

Do Not put this in the toaster/air fryer
I have read reviews where users have complained that their Crimpit has melted when they put it into their air fry machine and of course, it would because it is not meant to go inside an air fryer or toaster or any other cooking device. Read the instructions and you find that this Crimpit is designed to create a sealed parcel of two slices of bread enclosing some filling ready to be taken out of the Crimpit and put into the toaster or air fryer for cooking. It does that well. I have been using bread thins from a well-known producer of all things bakery bought from my local supermarket. No crusts and as the name says not such a thick cut. I have not done anything complicated yet, just cheese and sweet pickle but the result has been most satisfying with the toaster giving faster results. A toasted sandwich-maker could enable you to use standard bread loaf and deep fill but it takes up more space and is a nightmare to store and clean. The crimping does rely on a bit of brute force as you press down on your creation to make the seal and it is important you make the seal form well or you will have melted ingredients spilling out into your cooking device. If that is a toaster, that could be messy. The Crimpit is a great, simple idea that works amazingly well.

It's ok!
Little disappointed! Should've read the full description as I thought the crimper was like a toastie and you could prepare it along with cooking it in the crimper at the same time, as you can with a sandwich toaster ! My fault ! NOTE: it's made of PLASTIC ! you cannot heat it and they sent a separate warning to ensure you are aware ๐ the crimper though does what it says .. seals the edges of your warburtons sandwich. I toasted it, didn't leak any food out and, was really good. A quicker snack though, wouldve been even better if you couldve filled, crimped and then heated it through in the same container ๐๐

Finally bought something useful
I was waiting for my crimpit to arrive and specifically starved myself all day, so I can overdose on crimpit goodness after work! Oh my, this gadget blew my sock off! I ate a full pack of thins with ham and cheese. Couldn't stop making these beauty pies! So easy to make! Just follow few easy steps! I cannot believe some people actually toasted the actual plastic crimpit lol. No bread wasted as it's just perfect for bread thins. No cheese leaks in the toaster either! Seals the bread perfectly! No mess and no hassle. The best thing I bought in my life! I'll be living of crimpit toasties for the next few weeks that's for sure, or even maybe for the rest of my life...

Superb kitchen gadget for toasted or normal sandwiches
This is a brilliant little gadget. Very easy and quick to make a filled sandwich using bread 'thins' which can either be eaten as cold sandwiches or toasted sandwiches. The sandwiches (not the gadget!) can be toasted, grilled, dry fried or used in an air fryer to heat. Perfect to make sealed sandwiches for packed lunches. Has it's own facebook page with many recipes, tips and hints on uses. Can use pastry to make small pie parcels, or other types of bread. Easy to use and clean, crimps the edges to make a 'parcel' and by using a toaster or dry fry etc for toasted sandwiches, no messy items to wash up. Highly recommend.

A Game-Changer for Low-Calorie Toastie Fans
The CRIMPiT for Thins is an absolute must-have for anyone who loves toasted sandwiches but wants a healthier, lower-calorie option. Itโs so simple yet so effective! Designed specifically for thin sandwich bread, it crimps and seals your fillings perfectly without any mess. What I love most is how quick and easy it is to use. Just load your favorite fillings, pop it into the CRIMPiT, and then into the toaster or air fryer. The results are consistently crisp and satisfying. Itโs also surprisingly versatileโIโve tried sweet options like Nutella and banana, as well as savory combinations like ham and cheese or pesto and mozzarella.Cleaning is a breeze, as the material is non-stick and durable. It's also compact, so it fits easily into any kitchen drawer. If youโre on a calorie-conscious diet or just want a fun way to jazz up your sandwiches, this handy gadget is a fantastic investment. Highly recommend!

LOVE my CRIMPiT!
This is a GREAT tool. I use it almost every day! You can make a dessert type sandwich, like this one with peanut butter, honey, whipped cream and chocolate, or a lunch sandwich or breakfast.I use the toaster. It's fast and easy!

The best way to make a toastie!!
I had been looking for a sandwich maker for myself and all the ones that were 'on special' were family sized ones with 4 spaces and I'd only ever use one really just for myself. When I saw the adds for Crimp it I thought why not? I've been using 'thins' instead of bread for quite a while and I could use my thins with Crimp it. So I ordered it from Amazon Australia, was delivered very quickly like most products on the Amazon app. Talk about magic the Crimpit seals the bread together easily, then I just pop it in the toaster and then up it pops when done, I did have to turn the toaster down slightly, my normal, savoury, toasty was so good and cooked perfectly I thought I'd try a sweet one so I made one with half a banana and chocolate spread and WOW again sealed perfectly, cooked perfectly and tasted yum with the crunch on the outside and soft chocolatey banana inside. I will be making that one again for desert. I have used it just about every day since I got it and am delighted to say I think it's the best buy I've made in a while.

Good for kids to make their own sandwiches.
Good way for my kids to make their own sandwiches without having to worry about the cutting them themselves

Makes work lunch easy
Not what I expected as I thought it was one of those microwave toasters. However it works really well to make your thins into a little parcel which then fits in your toaster or sandwich press. Take it to work every day, I make up my cheese and vegemite sandwich, pop it in the crimpit in a lunch bag all ready for later.
