BOSS Audio Systems BV9979B 85 Watt 4-Channel Amplifier with Bluetooth, Multi-Color Illumination, USB/SD Inputs, and Steering Wheel Controls

My wife got this for me as a Christmas gift because the factory stereo I had in my truck was old and CD player no longer worked. I had to call technical support a couple of times and the guy I spoke to was very helpful. He helped me figure things out. Once i got things figured out, It works great. The sound is amazing. The phone works like a dream. I love this new stereo! If you want a good car stereo at an awesome price, look no farther than this unit. It has everything you will ever need.

The media could not be loaded.  It’s so cool how the screen pops up like that I feel so boujee and the sound quality is amazing. You can adjust the bass and treble and stuff on an equalizer and you can even choose what color the lights are and what your background is on the screen. I’m able to do hands free calling through Siri when it’s on blue tooth. Best car purchase I’ve ever made 10/10.

Great unit, needs more info which I will provide. I'm writing this for the 30% of users who buy this unit specifically for video playback, and moreso for the 10% who plan to use USB to watch videos (due to much larger storage capacity and ease of use compared to dvd swapping).This unit says it supports mp4 and avi. that is technically both true and false. Most avis work but alot of mp4s use a newer HD codec that this unit simply cannot support. You need to get a video converter (I used Divx) to convert your files from mkv and other unusual formats (including newer mp4s). I managed to get a movified version of the cinematics in God of War 4/Entire Sonic for Hire/Marvel Cinematic Universe Movies to work by running them through the converter. Most mp4 converters try to convert the files to the higher quality codecs, which are incompatible with the BOSS system. Make sure you legally own any material you wish to convert. if you do use the DIVX converter select the Home Theatre output, the higher quality ones dont work.If you wish for your PASSENGER to watch videos while you drive, or you dont want to run a wire from your unit to the reverse light fuse/wire, then ground the brake wire. Do not connect the brake wire to positive voltage or the other negative terminals, only a car provided ground wire or a wire grounded to the frame. If you use this method for the driver while driving you are both breaking the law and putting innocent lives at risk, be responsible and an adult. If you are RVing but don't have a TV, this Unit comes with an AV input, which will allow you to buy a cheap 10$ hdmi to AV converter so you can hook up your xbox one or PS4 to the unit and allow your passenger to game while you drive or allow you to do some gaming on your own while PARKED and enjoying time away from civilization. (assuming you have a 12v converter for those consoles, are at a campground with hookups or have an inverter) Most of those AV converters use USB to power them, which can just be connected to the other USB dongle for power or into the cig lighter USB port.As I tow an RV trailer, I use the camera AV input to run a secondary rearward facing camera from the back of my RV to the front so I can use it as a replacement for my useless while towing rearview mirror. The addition of these cables by BOSS was a godsend. Some vehicles like my 98 Ram have an opening below the unit for cables to hang free, other vehicles may require you to drill or saw a hole underneath to fit the AV inputs, but it is worth it imo and the other half of the reason I bought the unit.

The radio was a little tricky to install. Took about 2 hours alone to wire it in with out the backup camera and subs connected. But it’s an incredible product and the upgrade in sound quality in my truck is monumentally better than before. And the hands free calling is a great feature! I recommend this to anyone wanting a touch screen radio for their older vehicles!

So far so good. I don't see why people hate on the radio. Screen is a bit slightly unresponsive but nothing greatly noticable. The eq was able to be messed with and sounds great. Made the speakers sound better also. Great value for the money especially when single din is the best easier option.

I gave this Single DIN radio a try and the motorized screen opened and closed about a dozen times before the screen started dragging internal wires out (see pics), broke the wires, and the screen went blank. The sound quality was also terrible, and screen was so dim I couldn't see it during daylight hours. When I tried calling Boss Audio (which advertises "Best Warranty in the Industry"), the guy said, "There are no wires inside the unit that can be pulled out with the screen". So I sent the pictures. It took days before they emailed me back, offering a replacement unit. When I told them to send me a replacement unit, I then got an email back saying they don't have any more, and he actually offered me a Double DIN unit instead ! Now what makes this genius think a car that only has space for a Single DIN radio can have the dash cut up to fit a Double DIN radio ? I wrote back and said, "Let's forget the whole thing and just issue me a refund and return shipping label". I heard nothing after that except crickets. After a few days of waiting and a follow-up email or two that went unanswered, I tried calling their Customer Care phone number. I called in the middle of the day, got a recorded message that gave their hours of operation, which is exactly when I called, and the message said they were closed and hung up on me. Having had enough of this, I contacted Amazon and filed a complaint. I already knew my radio return period had expired. Amazon then tried to call Boss Audio on my behalf and experienced the exact same thing I did...closed during normal business hours. Amazon made an exception for me and issued a refund and return shipping label. I will never do business with Boss Audio again and highly recommend no one else does either.

Was leider nicht in der Beschreibung steht -Alle Kabel am Radio sind quasi einzeln zu verkabeln bzw noch selbst in Iso stecker zu verbasteln damit es funktioniert also kein plug and play .Optik und Verarbeitung für den Preis völlig okay

Tiene buen sonido, cuando esta conectado al celular por bluetooth las llamadas se conectan directo a la pantalla y puedo responder desde ahi sin tener que sacar el celular del bolsillo... lo recomiendo y cuando va algun niño en el coche solo pongo un dvd y se queda entretenido... lo que es bueno para los viajes largos

Hola buenos dias funciona bien pero tiene rotas unas patitas de donde se sostiene la caratula que procede por que no se sostiene les mando fotos.

The only thing stopping a 5 star review is no contrast settings for the screen, so in my convertible the screen is almost impossible to see
