Beautiful, highest quality
This isn’t just a pen, it’s an art piece, it has great feel and balance. One of the best pens I’ve ever had.

Beautiful Pen, NO CONVERTER
Lovely, lovely pen with classic Sailor feel from the 14k nib and beautiful in the hand with the Inden-ya lacquered leather barrel. A little back heavy when posted, but no real problem at all. Just noticeable. One caveat, when I asked AI if it came with a converter the answer was "yes" but the truth is "NO." There is no converter. It came with 2 black Sailor cartridges (appreciated), but no converter. It was ambiguous in both the English and Japanese descriptions and clearly Amazon was wrong when I asked a simple question. A minor expense, but still annoying when you're looking forward to choosing your own ink.

Unusual pen
I purchased the Sailor Koshu Inden pen in black. The pen is beautiful and writes flawlessly. Complaints - only one thing - the nib seems a bit small (probably #5) for the pen. But that's an aesthetic rather than a performance judgment. The deer skin wrapping is irrelevant on the black pen because the nubs are all that actually touch your fingers. (The red version has fewer "bumps", so you might be able to feel the textured surface on that pen.) All in all, I am happy with the pen and at a price of around $200, it's a good deal for a gold nib and unusual design.

A Beautiful Sailor Fountain Pen
This Sailor Koshu Shirushi Tsuto Kosakura pen is GORGEOUS! It is made from brass, leather and metal and is weighty but quite manageable for my small hands. The cherry blossom design is slightly raised so between the several different types of materials there is an agreeable texture. It came in a finely crafted Paulownia box for which my husband the woodworker was mightily impressed. This is my first experience writing with a Sailor gold (plated) medium fine nib and I love writing with this! The ink flows very clean and smoothly. Thank you Sailor for what I consider this work of art.
