The workbook is good to practice writing the letters
I have only used the first workbook but look forward to starting this one with my son soon. I have tried a few times to get my son interested in identifying letters but this is the first time it has worked. He is 4 and is starting school next year so want to give him a head start. I got the jolly phonics frieze as well. We have only just completed the first strip. The workbook is good to practice writing the letters. I don't get him to do a whole page in the workbook. It is divided into the different letters so I might get him to practise a row of a's and a row of t's in one sitting along with a bit of colouring in. There are some good resources on you tube as well which have some of the jolly phonics rhymes etc. I also cut out pieces of paper and write the letters on them, then get him to say the sounds. This is a good idea as initially he was saying the sound only if he could see the picture with the letter (e.g. snake with the s)

Jolly Phonics Workbook No 2
I can highly recommend all of the Jolly Phonics Workbooks. Each one covers a particular theme, gradually becoming harder as you would expect. They are a fun and interactive way for little one's to learn, whether it be help with pronunciation or learning to write the alphabet. I have found no problem at all with the Workbook holding the his attention (aged 3 and a half) throughout the time we spend using them, and over time I intend to work my way through the remainder with just as much confidence as I have the first two!
