It's not how much you read, but how much you practice.
Very useful resource as I learn my way around Revit. The information is straight-forward and very well organized.

Detailed and fascinating insights on the "need to know" concepts and techniques for productive use of the software.

Writers need to do a better job reviewing the software before writing the book.
Looks like I am the first to make a review comment for this book. I am new to this version of Revit but have had training on earlier versions. Where I work now we are up to date with the new version, 2018.2. As I began to get back up to speed with Revit I decided on this book after looking at the past reviews and comments. However after going through a few of the exercises I was wondering why I was not getting it the first time and having to reread and follow through word for word and still not getting it. Low and behold today as I was going through “Families”, I realized and went back to check, the figure’s placed in the book (Figure 15.29) are not the current version so they do not match. This one is from 2017.2. There have been several changes and evidently the writers did not do there review well enough to catch this problem, and took the short cut using old tables. It is frustrating to spend this much money and time, and not get accurate information by what I read of experienced, educated, Senior Business Consultants to Autodesk. The only good part to this is that I have been forced to look and figure out how to get to where they want me to go with the new version. Needless to say, my time usage and efficiency is not happening.

Awful, awful book
One of the worst textbooks I’ve ever encountered. I defy anyone to learn Revit using this book. It frequently skips steps and refers to buttons by either the wrong name or refers to buttons which sinply aren’t there. I can only assume they have not picked up some of the changes to the latest version of Revit. Either way, save yourself the hassle and expense and google video tutorials. There are excellent courses available which in some cases are totally free. Don’t waste your money on this book!
