Detailed, good molding, great decals
This is said to be a 1974 kit but it competes well with any modern day kit. The kit appears to be quite accurate. Optional wing tanks and under-wing bombs are provided. The new edition decal sheet is superb, on register, good colors, and with a great many detail stencils. The raised panel lines can easily be traced with a fence to guide the engraving tool if one wishes to do so. The kit is intended as wheels down but I decided to go "gear up." The landing gear panels or covers needed some adjusting in size to fit but it went well. Clear canopy has as much detail as a larger scale kit and fits well. I certainly recommend this kit.

It's vintage alright...
The tooling is showing its age... lots of fit issues & flash. Sucks because the F-80 is a unique subject. The decals were of good quality though.

Just because it's a "classic "...
...doesn't make it a kit worth building, IMO. It's sad that such a fascinating aircraft subject should be rendered in such a poor excuse for a kit. My example was a box full of poorly fitting, flash-filled parts. Airfix has some really excellent kits. This is not one of them. IMO It's not worth the effort. I threw the kit away.

Not a bad model
I've gotten back into building model planes again after decades. This kit is pretty good. I used to have it many years ago. Model kits are expensive today but this one was tolerable. Honestly, I decided to buy it because I was bulking up my order of other items to get a break on shipping.
