LiftMaster 3265-267 Premium Series 1/2 HP Chain Drive NO RAIL ASSEMBLY

Purchased this opener to replace the Liftmaster we had for more than 20 years. This one is far quieter and operates much smoother than the previous garage door opener and produces substantially lighter. My son helped install the unit which went very smoothly and bolter in the existing hardware. The Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities made setup really easy with the MyQ app. You can link the garage door to your phone to open and close it from anywhere or for open or closed status.

I purchased this garage door opener (motor head) and have been very pleased with it. Just to let you know that what I received was a model 8365-267. I'm guessing this is because this is a newer version for this model. That said the unit fit perfectly as a replacement for my 30+ year old Lift Master 1050 unit. The original rail bolted right into the unit and the chain fit perfectly on the sprocket. In fact the only thing that took me a while to install was the wiring for the safety sensors. My original unit-1050- didn't have those. It was relatively easy to program the door travel all though I had to read the instruction a few times to fully understand. One more thing. A previous reviewer gave this opener a poor review because there was poor reception with the remotes. I don't know what the situation was for that one but I had perfect reception with the two remotes that were included with this unit. In fact I've tried them while driving up to the house two house lengths away and they opened the door. So there you have it.

So, I was having issues with my garage door not wanting to open. I ordered new sensors and remotes and it was still acting up! I decided it was the opener and figured if I was going to replace my older opener I might as well upgrade. And this opener fit the bill! I love it. It's got 2 100 watt bulbs instead of one 60 watt bulb. It's got an app called my Q. It also has a keypad you can mount anywhere. It took me about an hour to install it myself. It wasn't very hard to do and programming it was easy mostly due to a couple of videos I watched on YouTube. I really wish it came with a new chain and bar because let's face it, the chain will break next! I also wish it came with some stick on wire holders for the long sensor wires instead of making people staple the wire to the sheet rock. I actually punctured the wire in one spot but the sensor still works. I'm really happy I bought this opener but it could use the upgrades I mentioned. I'm including a video and you will notice my white sensor wires on the opener have black wire loom wrapped around them, I think it makes it look cleaner. If your thinking about this opener I say buy it, unless you can find one with the chain and bar. And I still need to adjust the chain a little.Update 11/14/25... I have owned this for a while now and things I dont like are that the wall mount opener button needs to be pushed twice sometimes? What the heck is that all about? And when the garage door is open and the lights are out and you walk through the door the light doesn't come on. My 20 year old open worked that way. So now when I'm outside at night and come into the garage I'm in the dark! Why would they do away with that feature? It has its quirks but I would still recommend in. You can also use the my-Q app to open the door from anywhere. And I meen anywhere. But the advertisements drive me nuts so I dont use the app.

This worked to replace my old Liftmaster that broke.

What I ordered was a3265-267. What I received was a 8365W-267. I don't know what the difference is but it looks just like the picture shown. My old opener was a Chamberlain with dual lights that looks identical except for the color; 2001 vintage with a T shaped track. The description didn't say if this unit used the T track or the new rectangular track, but it is made to use the T style track. The new opener bolted to my old track and chain with no problems, The old safety eyes work, so I didn't have to replace them. I had to use the new wall mount switch, wireless opener key pad and the 2 new remotes. I had one remote for a 3rd vehicle that was bought in 2016 that was also able to program ( The ones from 2001 would not). Every thing is working good so far so I am giving it 4 stars until time passes. I just installed it today and I haven't tried the WIFI yet.
