Conures favorite!
I purchased three different brands of pellets for my new conure. He prefers these over the others. I love the smell! Smells sweet and fresh.

Picky GCC Loves This Food
This is the only food our picky gcc will eat. He's been eating this food for several years and we've never had a health issue. It's getting hard to find locally so happy it's available here. Now if Amazon would just do something about the quality control on their shipments!

My birds really seem to enjoy this pellet and it's a great size for tiels.
I have a couple of cockatiels. One of them was pretty sickly as a baby when I got him, and some time after his pressing issues were treated I realized he didn't quite understand how to eat like a proper tiel. Long story short; he attempts to swallow pellets whole and doesn't crunch them up when they are too big, which has made feeding him difficult.I have spent the past year trying all sorts of pellets to see which both my boys like the flavor of, and the other one can manage to eat with minimal difficulty. These are the perfect size for him to swallow since he thinks he is a snek. Also, both of the birds immediately took to them. Usually, it takes them a little more time before they really decide if they enjoy new foods or not. Hari Tropican is now a permanent part of the pellet blend I give my boys. Finally, it smells quite strongly of bubblegum and mildly of bananas, which threw me for a loop at first despite knowing to expect it. I kind of like the way it smells though.

Quality product
My cockatiels have always eaten this, so liking it was no issue. I usually buy this for a better unit price from my vet. Glad it was available here when my vet was out of stock. It's nice the bag reseals, but the opening is small, so we transferred to a gallon freezer bag for convenience (which is how my vet sells their bulk).

A Healthy and Nutritious Addition for your Feathered Friend
I am a volunteer, and on the board of directors for a state certified and registered bird rescue and rehoming organization. We take in the larger bird species; they are then ‘vet checked’, and distributed to qualified foster families for care until they can be rehomed. In this process, we often receive mal-nourished pet birds, who have only been fed on an all seed diet. One of our many goals is to convert these birds to fresh vegetables, fruits, and other wholesome and nutritious foods, and this includes the introduction to pellets for a completely balanced nutritional diet. The small size of Hagen Tropican is a perfect size to try on birds, that way you are not heavily invested in a pellet brand that does not appeal to them. The Air Barrier Zipper Bag insures freshness and the bag seals up tightly after each use.Although, there is a "bubble-gum-like" smell of the granules, after briefly doing my own ‘crunching test’ I can attest that this smell does not translate into the taste, therefore, the Tropican does not taste like bubble gum. I am impressed that Tropican contains not just the usual corn, but also soybean meal, ground wheat, soybean oil, peanut kernels, sunflower kernels, brewers rice, oat groats, flaxseed meal, spirulina, and a number of natural oils and other ingredients that apparently results in higher acceptance among birds that are not necessarily found in other major-brand pellets. Additionally, believing that birds need a certain amount of natural fat and oil for good feather condition, I have also observed that other pelleted foods are excessively "dry.” The Tropican formula addresses the normal dry pellet formula with an oil content of 10% (orange, banana, soybean), which is a healthier and more palatable alternative for our pet birds. There is no ‘one-way’ to introduce your bird to pellets, it does take time and patience, but there are a variety of different ways to incorporate pellets into a pet bird’s diet. Most birds that have only experienced a seed based diet will usually reject the pellets in the beginning, but here are a few different ways that have worked for us.1) Try mixing a small amount of seeds in with the pellets, many seed based diets have done the same thing.2) If your bird has a favorite type of fresh food, vegetables, fruit, or whatever he/she favors, sprinkle some pellets over this food as a ‘crunchy’ addition to the favored ‘treat’. Some birds might prefer the pellets ground up almost to a powder form and they will ingest them like a sprinkled topping until they get used to the taste.3) Many pet birds like fruit juices, so try mixing a little juice with the pellets, but not too much to make them soggy. You may come up with a different solution for your own bird, but do not give up on the idea of pellets. If your bird will not accept them in any form, then just try a different brand.I am not endorsing one brand of pellets over another; obviously, the best is that one that they will eat, I can only state that we have had a tremendous success rate with Hagen Tropican.

Birds choose this pallet out off all the others
I tried almost every pellet for my birds, and this one is the only one they like. I have been introducing pallets for over 6 months as they all were seed eaters. I still mix this Hagen Tropican pellet with others, trying to make them eat the others also, but they all prefer This one. Also has a good smell!I give it 10 stars if I could! But every bird is different. The best way is offer different pellets together and see what they like better. Don’t forget veggies, fruits and green daily!!

Hari handfeeding formula
I have been raising baby cockatiels, and parrotlets since the 1980's. Except for the home made recipe I made back then, Hagan comes the closest to perfection in smoothness, digestibility, healthy exceptional growth results and best of all, no crop issues. I don't trust other handfeeding products after bad batches, course sandy- like texture, crop issues and poor development results with babies! Great product for cockatiels; we all use it .

Maintenance Bird food
Not sure how I feel about this, or if my bird is just spoiled, but this food seems to have a strong chemical smell and she won't touch it, even if mixed in with seeds.

Great bird feed.
My bird loves it and isn't a bad price either.

Good stuff
My Cockatiel, Budgie and Conure to eat it, they love it. My cockatiel used to be super picky and would only eat seed, but got her on this food and she has been great. Good sized pellets.
