Best secondary monitor, especially for a shared use home workstation
I rarely leave reviews, but I've had this monitor for about 2 years now and just wanted to say it's perfect. I used to use 3 monitors for work and 3 monitors for personal use (gaming mostly, with some productivity and watching shows). Using this monitor, I was happily able to consolidate everything onto one 3 monitor L-shaped desk setup, where the short arm has my Macbook Pro and a 34 inch ultrawide mounted for work and the long arm has a 42" inch OLED TV that I use for a monitor for gaming and everything else. In the corner of the L, I have this LG monitor mounted. It's shared between the two setups and works *seamlessly*. It's roughly the same height as the 42" inch TV as well so aesthetically they flow together. What prompted me to write this review was sitting down at my desk just now, checking my emails on my Macbook, closing it, and swiveling over to my personal computer where the monitor automatically registered which computer was on and started showing content from it. I didn't do anything to set this up, and it may be a simple thing, but I've been working on PCs for over 20 years now and it feels like nothing ever works this well. The monitor itself is also fantastic, very clear and crisp for IPS. No real complaints. I personally would not use the DualUp as my primary monitor because the refresh frate is 60hz, which even for productivity I find a bit lacking these days, but I'm also kind of a display snob. However, for a secondary monitor it's absolutely perfect for having web browsers and chats up. The Windows 11 snap functionality they've been perfecting over the last few OS generations works perfectly with this as well, letting you to snap windows into either the 4 corners, above and below each other so it works like two stacked 27 inch monitors (which was my old setup, or in a few different orientations that I personally feel work with this aspect ratio better than 16:9 and 21:9.If you're on the fence, I don't think you'll be disappointed at all.

I have two for my workstation, absolutely love these monitors!
I recently received a new Macbook Pro M3 Pro laptop from work (replacing an Intel Macbook Pro whose lease was up), and had a couple of older LCD monitors that needed to be replaced. After doing some research on features I decided to replace the LCD monitors with two of these babies.I mounted them on retractable arms to clear desk space, and set them into full screen mode as the work laptop only supports two external monitors (my personal Macbook, also new, is an M3 Max and supports 4). The monitors as well as a couple of other devices are hooked up to a CalDigit TS4 Thunderbolt 4 Dock, and the Macbook is hooked to the Dock with a single Thunderbolt 4 cable, which provides access to all devices as well as power the laptop via the CalDigit dock.I do want to mention that I am a software engineer, and write code for a living, so having high quality monitors to save my poor tired eyes is a must.I am loving this setup! I keep Slack open on my Laptop screen, keep two web browsers open on one monitor and my IDE in full screen mode on the other. The eye fatigue is all but gone, which is awesome, the monitors are cool and don't put off alot of heat (which was not the case with the ones I have retired), and all of the cable are now gone off my desktop.(A side node, the Macbook Pro M3 Pro is ULTRA QUIET, I don't think I've heard the fans kick in a single time since I set all this up).Having the monitors on the retractable arms not only frees up desk space, it allows me to adjust the monitors so that they are conducive to coding and switching focus from the IDE to the browsers and back without alot of extra motion.Did I mention that the resolution is fantastic? It is.I have also put them in dual screen mode hooked up to my personal Macbook Pro, and that works well, switching between modes is super easy. The monitor with the browsers I put in dual screen mode but the one that displays my IDE I keep as a single screen.Highly recommend, worth the investment, this set up should do me for a few years to come, and my eyes are thanking me!

My Favorite Monitor - Here is Why
The LG 28MQ780-B DualUp Monitor is a game-changer for anyone who values multitasking and clarity in their work environment. This innovative 28-inch monitor features a unique 16:18 aspect ratio, providing ample vertical space that is especially valuable for programmers, video editors, and anyone who enjoys browsing the internet in an exciting, naturally vertical format. One of the standout features of this monitor is its impressive clarity. Text appears sharp and vibrant, significantly enhancing the reading experience, particularly when dealing with detailed documents or spreadsheets like Excel. The built-in sound system is another plus, eliminating the need for external speakers and simplifying your workspace. While I did encounter a minor issue with PowerPoint presentation mode, it’s easily resolved by adjusting settings within PowerPoint itself. This small hiccup does not overshadow the overall functionality and efficiency that this monitor brings to my daily tasks. In summary, the LG 28MQ780-B DualUp Monitor is an excellent investment for anyone looking to boost productivity and enjoy a seamless multitasking experience. Its unique design makes it particularly advantageous for creative professionals and casual users alike. Five Stars!

great monitor but for the use of entire area it would be better to have 24 or 25 inches 4:3
Great monitor especially if you want to fit two screens inside one monitor . If you want to use the entire area to work with ides or browsing 0r typing docs it would be more comfortable to work with 24 or 25 inches 4:3. Especially if You are shorter then 6 feet. I am still surprised there are no companies produce such type of displays for the office work type . I had to return mine and use instead 32 inch 4k with 2560x2048 with 250% scaling. Workable , yet i would prefer to use 24 or 25 inches 4:3 if i had the option.
