Makes That Middle Seat Bearable!
I am one of those people guilty of overpacking. I not only overpack in my checked luggage, but am guilty of overpacking in my carry on luggage. Believe me, it is not because I'm a pack rat. The fact is I am on a slew of medications (pills/injectables/liquids) and the only places I fly are overseas or if domestic, are usually a 10-12 hour travel day. My point is, I can't travel nor pack light. Gone are the days where a small carry-on for a weekend would do the job. Besides all my pills & medical supplies, I also pack for my time in the air. Gum. Neck pillow. Ear phones. I had all the bases covered for my time in-flight except for a gizmo to rest my phone on while I was watching the free movies compliments of Southwest Airlines. So I did what any logical person would do & held my phone. This got old real quickly though. About a year ago, I noticed a gentleman across the aisle from me with this cool contraption that clipped on the back of the seat in front of him. I was amazed. I purchased one online and it worked like a charm for my leg out to my destination. On my leg home however, the gizmo would not fit on any of the seat backs in front of me. Note to self: Not all receptacles on the seat backs of airplanes are the same thickness. In other words, the gizmo I shelled $25 bucks out for was worthless. What was the point of taking it on a trip if it was only going to work 50% of the time??? My search began again for another answer to the phone stand vs. seat back problem again. Then I came across it: the FLIGHT FLAP AIRPLANE PHONE HOLDER. It was so simple in it's concept, it was almost laughable. I clicked the "BUY NOW" button and waited for it to arrive in the mail. THE VERDICT: My first trip with the FLIGHT FLAP AIRPLANE PHONE HOLDER was to say the least, a smashing success. It slid in effortlessly into my small carry-on, taking up literally zero room. It is made of a very hard, yet bendable foam type of material and it appears to be well made. I chose the green color which is very pretty in person. (imagine the color of Oscar the Grouch's fur) When the time came to break out the FLIGHT FLAP to put it to work, it is a no brainer: Lower your tray table, remove the FLIGHT FLAP from it's protective plastic sleeve and then simply bend it into something resembling a backwards "N" with a little uppity tail on one end, place on tray table and then place your phone into the FLIGHT FLAP. VIOLA! Your phone is now standing at attention allowing you hours of mile-high entertainment. When getting ready to land, remove phone, flatten your FLIGHT FLAP, place back in protective plastic sleeve and put back in your carry on. I did try and hang it off the seat in front of me but it did not seem that sturdy. I have a pretty good sized iPhone (15 ProMax) and I would worry that if the plane hit turbulence, my iPhone would go flying off the FLIGHT FLAP. Because of this I only plan on using it while it sits on the tray table. Once bended, the FLIGHT FLAP will never be totally flat nor straight again. I imagine that it only has so many bends, folds & re-flattens in it's lifetime before the foam breaks from "bend fatigue" but I can't imagine that is going to be anytime soon. I will probably lose it somewhere or accidentally leave it on a plane before mine experiences thus said "bend fatigue". Overall Score for the FLIGHT FLAP AIRPLANE PHONE HOLDER: FOLDABILITY: 5***** HANDS FREE: 5***** DURABILITY: 4***** (but who knows?) QUALITY: 5***** I

Great Travel Stand That Should Last If Treated Properly
TL;DR: 10/10 purchase. It works extremely well and should last a long time if you bend and adjust it consistently. This was exactly what I was looking for. I bought it at the last minute to hold my iPad Mini during a 20-hour flight, and it worked perfectly. The stand is flexible enough to bend into the position you need, but rigid enough to hold that position once adjusted. I had no trouble shaping it to fit on an airplane tray table, and it securely held my iPad Mini where I wanted it. For me, this is a 10/10 purchase, with one important thing to keep in mind: I would consider this a wear item rather than something you can endlessly reshape without affecting its lifespan. If you adjust it in roughly the same way each time, I could easily imagine it lasting for years. However, if you constantly fold it into completely different shapes or repeatedly create new creases over old ones, I would expect it to eventually lose some of its rigidity. I’d also avoid making sharp V-shaped bends. Instead, use smoother, more rounded curves when shaping it. That should put less stress on the material and help it last longer. Overall, it did exactly what I needed it to do and was especially useful for a long flight.

Simple and does the trick, I am a fan.
[5 month update]: Still going. I expected it to die by now to be honest, but its still good to go. Nothing exciting to report other than cleaning it with alcohol wipes or windex will always treat you better than most other cleaners. [2 month update]: 20k or so miles later and I’m still loving the flap. Admittedly I’m excited about trying the new Airhook 2.0 - the Flap is still a Simple concept, gets no grief from the TSA, and disappears into my bag behind my notebook every time. Works great at holding up phones, battery packs and even headphones (not all at the same time). I can see why people have problems with “tearing” it, you just need to be careful and remember not to jam it if there isn’t enough clearance behind the tray. Also remember, the closer to the edge the more flex in the tray. Great product. [Original Review]: As an avid Airhook user I was looking for something a little slimmer to stick in my bag with more flexibility and the Flight Flap delivers. Its super light, holds up my phone, offers no TSA hassle, no stewardess grief, and it slides into my bag next to my notebook just fine. My primary usage for this while flying is with an iPhone in landscape mode, watching movies and connected to power, or in portrait mode with music playing (either of these is with bluetooth headphones). It supports both of these usage modes very well. The flap is nice because as it claims, you can build a tray-stand if your meal tray is down, or you can fold your tray up and (on some planes) tuck it behind. Out near the edge works better btw as the flex in the meal tray helps. For me, I have found the "magazine pocket" to be the best spot for me. Stick 1/2 of it down behind the magazines and bend the other half around like a tray and voila. If you have a first class seat this usually means you can use your meal tray and still watch your device. I have not tried it with an iPad so I cannot speak to that, and I should also point out that your phone is only resting on this. Unlike the Airhook or Joby products there is no 'grip' holding the device in place so it is possible that it could bounce off if you have a lot of turbulence or you don't leave a big enough lip when you bend it. I have not had issues with it getting ripped as others have reported but I have not used it in tight clearance spaces that much yet either. Will update this review accordingly if my experience changes. As of now, I plan to get a second one to put in my partners travel bag as well. Thanks for reading my review and if there's any questions or more details you'd like to see here let me know. -Chris

A great option for travel
The phone holder is cute and works well. You simply insert it into the tray table on the seat in front of you, lock it in place, and then fold the holder into whatever shape works best for your phone. It’s a convenient solution for flights. However, on some budget airlines where tray tables are not available, you can’t use it as intended. In those cases, I’ve managed to make it work by using the seatback pocket, but it’s not ideal. After only four uses, I’ve already noticed cracks developing in the areas where the phone rests. Given the price point, I didn’t expect it to be exceptionally durable, but it’s worth noting that it may not hold up to frequent use.

An absolute essential for my travels
I recently had the pleasure of trying out the FLIGHT FLAP, and I must say, it has become an absolute essential for my travels. This innovative device has completely transformed my airplane experience, and I won't be caught without it again. First and foremost, the FLIGHT FLAP provides unparalleled comfort during travel. No more straining my neck or contorting my body to view my phone or tablet screen – with the FLIGHT FLAP, I can effortlessly position my device at eye level, keeping my hands free and my posture comfortable throughout the journey. What I love most about the FLIGHT FLAP is its versatility. Whether I'm using my phone, tablet, e-reader, or even a handheld gaming console, the flexible and adjustable design of the FLIGHT FLAP accommodates them all with ease. It folds and bends to securely hold my device at any angle, ensuring optimal viewing no matter what I'm doing. Despite its incredible functionality, the FLIGHT FLAP remains incredibly compact and lightweight, making it a breeze to pack and carry. It folds flat to fit perfectly into any bag or suitcase, taking up minimal space and adding virtually no extra weight to my travel load. But the benefits of the FLIGHT FLAP extend far beyond just airplane travel. I've found myself using it for work, leisure, and everything in between. From hosting Zoom meetings to streaming workouts to entertaining kids during car rides, the FLIGHT FLAP has proven to be a versatile companion for all my viewing needs. In conclusion, if you're a frequent traveler like myself, the FLIGHT FLAP is an absolute must-have. It enhances comfort, convenience, and enjoyment during travel in ways I never thought possible. Trust me – once you experience the difference it makes, you'll wonder how you ever traveled without it.

Served it's purpose but it's really disposable after a few uses
I bought this for a transatlantic trip. The pros are it is very, very lightweight, folds easily, packs well, holds your phone or small tablet on a tray table. The biggest con, which is also one of its features, is how lightweight it is. It will hold a phone, but a tablet is rather heavy for it to stay in place - it slides. I used it on planes and lots of trains, and a few hotels. After about a dozen uses, the creases where I bent it and then flexed it back to flat, made it about at the end of its life. There is no way that this could withstand daily use unless you kept it in one bent configuration. I'm glad I had it because it was thin, lightweight, and I could just prop my 7" tablet up and not hold it. But I ended up tossing it when I got back because there was no life left. It's really too lightweight for a big tablet or e-reader. But for what I used it for, it was fine. The price seems rather hefty for a rectangle of foam, but it beats having to hold a phone or tablet on a plane.

Perfect Flexible Cell Phone Holder
Don't let the looks fool you! I recently used this on my recent plane trip. I use to sit there and hold my phone in my hands while trying to watch a movie, straining my neck, but not with this product. This phone holder folded up to fit my phone, and I was able to watch my movie hands free. I folded it up first to have it sit on the plane's tray, and I also used it tucked in the tray while the tray was up and locked into the seat in front of me. Worked either way perfectly. Another traveler was intrigued with this item and took a picture of it so he could order one. I purchased two more and gave as Christmas gifts. It does flatten out back to its original form and I packed it back into my carry on taking up no more space that a thin pad of paper. Highly recommend to anyone who travels. It can be used for other purposes as well. Read the description by the seller. This product is just as the seller states.
