I raised my first two sets of chicks and ducks in this pen. The fact that you can zip the top was a lifesaver for when my chicks learned they could fly out. The side openings make it easy to run brooder plate cords out. It held up great to two batches of chicks and a batch of ducks. The ducks wore mine out worse because they did what baby ducks do and constantly spilled water. I wouldn’t recommend using for ducklings for that fact, but it made do until they could go outside. If duckling go in it, it needs a tarp under it for water spillage. But it is the best for chicks. It’s very spacious and had plenty of room for near 20 chicks, two brooder plates, two starter roosting perches, a feeder and waterer. Mine held up great and only ripped due to my fault for dragging it over briars. It’s easy to dump out and spray with a water hose and cleans very easily. I will definitely be buying another one and highly recommend.

I love this. I got one originally & had to get a second one as my chicks grew. I have 23 chicks and when they got to around 2 weeks I noticed it was too crowded. Now I have a group of 11 & a group of 12, the chicks are between 3.5 -4.5 weeks old. They have plenty of space as of right now. That's with the brooder plates still in there. When I can finally remove the brooder plates at the end of this month it'll be even more roomy. The only issue I can across was one of them came unzipped from the bottom. I did remove the bottom on that one completely to allow the chicks to have access to grass outside. It is a bit annoying because its unzipped at the very end in the middle (the opposite end of where the zipper is). Meaning i would have to unzip that whole bottome side half of the pen and then rezip it back to close it. Which those of us with chicks know how fun that'll be! Lol. Definitely not a deal breaker, but something to be aware of. The zipper mechanism seems pretty weak in that aspect as sometimes even the doors will separate like that too. Overall, I am happy with my purchase & feel I will be able to use it multiple times with care. I also love that it has multiple doors (options) for the wire for your heat plate. Which is another thing! I use a heat plate, not a heat lamp. I've seen some people have the top flap completely open to use a heat lamp, but I personally wouldn't trust that. My chicks are pretty flighty though & I keep my brooder in my basement where I only monitor it on a low quality camera. It may work for others. Pic of some of my pretty chicks. Ages 3.5-4.5 weeks. Great pen for baby chicks! I went from a plastic bin for a few days and this came in and the ease of how it come out box was one pull and bam it unfolded like a tent and shows you how to fold back up. The space for my chicks is very good. The change in their behavior was so noticeable it was amazing they had time to run and stretch and be happy. For the price? Worth every penny! Highly recommend this play pen. Now I will say the walls are extremely sturdy just have watch out if you walk past it I would keep kids and pets away from it or there could be accidents to your animal in pen but how easy it was to put together was what I needed and the mesh top will keep them from flying out. I really purchased this for myself and a family member to play with new baby animals and let them roam around without running off or hurting themselves.. its great you can lie down in it .. I am 5'6 and I can lie down and spent time with the pet and not worry about it getting lost or running under the couch . I used it both inside the house and also outside at the park under trees ......it's good for mice, turtles, bearded dragons. .... I would not recommend leaving a pet unattended as a mouse would chew through unattended and anything with claws would climb the sides and could hurt themselves if they fell backwards... myself and another family member sat inside of it .. our heads touched the top but that was no big deal . the safety for the animal was the main part .... we also took it to the park to get some time outside in the fresh air .... it worked really well... .. pay attention to the zippers . I would recommend to pull the zipper all the way down to the end of the beginning . if you open the zipper as it's located in the middle it will break the zipper . the zipper part is not made like a pair of pants . there is no place where it joins up like a jacket .. so I would advise to be careful of that when using any of the zippers.... it popped open really easy to use at first .. although I tried the directions to fold it back up . It has pictures and everything to try to put it back in the bag that it came with ... but if you don't intend on packing it up and putting it away often, it comes with steaks that can push into the dirt if its outside .... it was I guess supposed to be for baby chickens and it would actually work for that as well .. although it would need bedding and what not ... it works for what I purchased it for,, it will surely make due until I can get something more durable where I know will last more than a year or two ...

it is definitely cheap and not very sturdy but it’s HUGE for the price. my chicks loved the extra room and getting to forage in the grass. it held up surprisingly well even after being outside in the rain and a few storms for a few weeks. it does not protect the chicks from rain or wind very well so i would have something else ready to move them if there’s a rainstorm coming.

Quality is as expected. My one rabbit hasn’t been able to chew through it- but my terror rabbit has so be warned. Bottom is pretty darn water proof. Havent had any spills! My only real complaint is trying to fold it up is impossible. I was able to accordion it, but once you get to that point it won’t go anymore. Not as convenient to store once it’s out of the original bag it comes from.

This is probably the best enclosure for baby chicks I have ever purchased! Opens up easy, keeps the babies safe from jumping out of a box enclosure when they begin to fly up! The netting holds in the heat from the heat lamp. The 4 zipper openings makes it super easy to clean while not allowing birds to escape! The size could actually fit about 20 chicks or more! Love the capability of opening the zippered bottom and using the enclosed stakes to bring them outside when they are ready. This allows them to have fresh air, sunshine and foraging! The price of this unit was the best money can buy! It's very nice looking, sturdy and it protects the chicks from danger since it's completely enclosed! Can't say enough about this enclosure! Would highly recommend for novice to seasoned birders. I believe this would work for other small animals as well if they are not chewers!

Worked perfectly for brooding out some chicks - I was able to run 16, which was pretty crowded by the end, but it held up well enough. Developed tears along seems by the end, but for the price it’s reasonable that it only lasted one season.

Bought for my chickens while the coop was being finished they were a day old chicks but they stayed in there for a few weeks (11) chickens it was perfect. I would say it’s about the size of a single mattress so plenty of space.
