Is there a shelf life?

Yes, shelf life about two years before additives start to deteriorate for efficiency.

I don't believe the company makes an anti gel product however the Diesel Fuel Additive is specifically formulated to keep injectors clean, and for that it works. A number of pro truckers recommended Stanadyne when I bought my first diesel. It's turning 200K without a hint of injector issues. As for anti gel STA-BIL Diesel Winter Ant-Gel is a good product found right here on Amazon.

Is this the same in smaller bottle?

Exact same stuff. I ordered the small bottles first and then ordered the half gallon jugs to refill the smaller bottles after i used them.
