Microsoft FMM-00001 Type Cover for Surface Pro - Black

Like all type covers the red one is very good in practical use. Key travel is sufficient, it is near silent when laying flat on the desk, one can type very fast and the minimal flex actually helps to to make your fingers fly. Ergonomically a larger trackpad would be desirable, but this is the only thing I can really complain about for such a small laptop. Typing experience is much better then the iPad type covers, although they are also surprisingly good to. The alcantara fabric looks fancy and nice to touch. However, it is also harder to keep clean. I owned the gray signature cover before and replaced it with this red one after 3 years, because the gray one became dirty at the palm rests and impossible to clean. Technically it was perfectly ok! But because of the great experience I got this new one in a darker color. If you are in doubt between a normal and the alcantara version, opt for the alcantara for a beautiful and comfy product and the normal one if you prefer easy cleaning or the looks of you keyboard after several years. Btw., I ordered the US layout version on Amazon US from Japan and it arrived within 1 week and there are no additional tax or customs for this type of products. So it was much cheaper than in Japan and had the US layout.

This is a review for the 'Ice Blue' keyboard. For starters it looks great but it's the functionality that made me give it 5 stars. Two finger scrolling w the touch pad is a breeze, the keys r sharp and responsive, luminescence is excellent, the Alcantara is durable and easy to keep clean, despite looking the same as the previous gen there is a noticeable improvement. It feels more solid, better responsiveness and connecting/disconnecting from my Surface Pro is seamless (it just works). Additionally, despite looking and feeling luxurious/expensive, the MS SP typecover keyboards r extremely durable. They hold up to punishment, coffee/water spills and extended use. Quality product and worth the price. Another thing that separates the MS typecovers from others is their impact on battery, it's negligible...

Supports, protects, and functions as it should. No issues.

Biggest issue is the proprietary power plug, forcing you to carry around its big bulky power cable. If it was USBC it’d be five stars, also struggles a little with cooling so definitely use in a well cooled room or near a fan for proper air flow

I liked the feel of typing with this keyboard it worked great for 3 years but now wont connect to my surface. Time for a new one!

If you've used the Surface Pro, you know the SP keyboard is fantastic. This one is identical to the one I purchased in a bundle with my new SP7+. I bought this one for my wife's SP6. She was using a keyboard from a SP3, which was 9 years old and the original keyboard (the first generation of the pro keyboards) was getting ratty and I decided to buy her one of the updated models. While the ratty original one still worked fine, she LOVES the upgraded design of the slightly separated keys and overall better build quality.

unlike knock offs, there is no separate mouse and need to turn keyboard on or off. I have a surface pro 7, and seller Emailed me before shipping to be sure that this was correct item. It was more expensive, but just what I wanted, with no hassles. It came 2 days early, and there was a personal note inside the box from the seller.

The seller was very prompt in sending the keyboard. The seller also contacted me very quickly to confirm that the keyboard is for an older Surface Pro. Mine was a 6-pin keyboard and I think the newer ones are 8-pin. They also alerted me that it was not brand new; used, but tested to work. I really appreciate that they reached out to confirm all of this before mailing. I received it very quickly and it is working very well with my Surface Pro. Happy with the purchase.
