I’ve been living in the Caribbean with a basic household filtration system, for 10 years and am Dazzled by this upgrade in filters! Up until recently, I used basic filters which needed changing every 2-5 weeks, depending on rain. This filter easily lasted 2.5 months and likely could have held up longer. Too, the white is helpful in eyeball gauging the filters condition, life expectancy. I’m planning to shift to these indefinitely and wish I’d tried them 10 years ago! Sometimes it’s a bit of a struggle changing them so having to do it far less- I’m happy.

Works as stated, good price

I use these filters in my whole house filtration system and under my kitchen sink gooseneck faucet. The gooseneck filter is just added assurance that my coffee and drinking water is always just about as good as it can possibly be. When changing the cartridge with this brand, there is not a lot of particulate carbon that other filters seem to leave. There doesn't seem to be a flushing time listed for these filters but, because of the low residual of carbon fines, I have shortened the flushing process to just a few gallons. This seemed to be adequate after testing for clarity and taste. Some name brand filters require flushing for 40 minutes, I don't think that I'll be running 80 gallons of water through my gooseneck. What more can be said? Each cartridge in my whole house system lasts for several months. The gooseneck filter, since it is secondary, lasts much longer. With these filters the well water is delicious and has no odor. One more note: This filter is not recommended for use as a whole house filter and is rated at 1 GPM, This is definitely a super conservative rating. Flow rate, of course, is dependent on line pressure and other factors. At 60 PSIG, this filter is definitely suitable for my whole house filter system and with actual testing will overflow a 5 gallon bucket in 1 minute. I have found that this is more than ample for my home with 3 bathrooms. The indicator that I use to determine the necessity for filter change is shower droop when other water is used. This of course means that the 5 micron filter is becoming restrictive.

So far they are great, so much better than other brands that only last a few days. I use them for well water.

Seems to work well. We regularly drink our water from the tap with no odor or fowl smell. Filter starts out pure white, and in only one month, it's brown with particles it has captured. Will buy again.

Over decades, I used several different brands and types of cartridges for under-sink filter unit, This Aqaboon is by far the worst one, worse than these labelled and sold as an economical alternative to OEM cartridges. With these filters, the water tastes worse than straight from the tap. The chlorine smell did not go away, but the cartridge added a metallic taste and white flakes to the water. One week after the installation, I opened the filter to check if the cartridge was installed properly, thinking water may be bypassing it. I discovered that the plastic cover on the inside surface of the cartridge was deteriorating. Replaced the cartridge right away, but the other five cartridges in the package were not much better. Each one lasted about a month before deteriorating into a plastic flow to the drinking water it was expected to clean. I wish there were a way to know what the manufacturer used to make these cartridges and why they perform so purely compared to OEM and other aftermarket alternatives I used. The one-micron sediment pre-filter made by the same Aquaboon brand appears to be working fine. But the carbon filter is disappointing, I will not buy it again and will not recommend it.
