STAUBCast Iron 5-qt Tall Cocotte - Grenadine, Made in France

Le Creuset is hands down the best bang for your buck. You will have this pot forever if you take care of it. I was a little worried about some minor scratches around the rim that occurred due to shipping but it did not interfere with the cooking quality or the oven itself. I cook bread in this dutch oven all the time and it is a major upgrade. Not only is it gorgeous to look at but it’s nice and tall vs other brands that are typically shorter which can be restrictive. The engineering and quality of this piece is worth every penny and if you are investing in your cooking future this is the one for you!

This pot in grenadine is not only gorgeous, it works splendidly, too. I have a 7-quart Lodge cast iron dutch oven which I use regularly, but I needed an enameled pot for acidic dishes. The Lodge has more space for browning than the taller Staub, but the cocotte is perfect for soups, stews, braising, and other slow-cooking dishes. Plus, that beautiful grenadine enamel makes me smile every time I see it.

My 5 quart Staub Dutch oven arrived a day sooner than expected and in perfect condition. I have used it twice to bake sourdough bread and the results were fantastic! I’m happy with my purchase.

I really debated between Staub and Le Creuset for a Dutch oven. Most of my friends had Le Creuset and suggested it. I wanted to get something different. After almost a year it's been used many times. It's never lost its beautiful shine. I've made soup beans, stew, chicken and dumplings, and many other things. It kept an even temperature, and best of all always cleans easily.

I ordered a tall 5 qt crock pot and am astounded at the quality of the pot! Cast iron, it feels durable and not unwieldy, and the inside has a remarkable non-stick coating made from materials I've not seen before. That, and the dark blue color is gorgeous! I daresay this may be the nicest pot I've ever owned. So pleased by my purchase!
