Review: Amazing! - This little gem is amazing! Also since it comes with a small book, the whole item is hidden in desertcart’s book section. I was lucky to stumble on it looking for Batman books. It is heavy, real metal, and the light projects very well on to a wall! What an incredible find and a great bargain! One tip…you can buy a 4.5v adapter, and an adapter wire converter which you plug the adapter into, and then screw two wires into that, which prevents you from having to strip the adapter plug wires. Then make little wood dowels to plug the AAA battery space and hook the wires into the positive and negative of the Battery tray. There are numerous Youtube videos explaining how to convert battery power to an AC adapter. Now you can remotely operate the light and never have to change the batteries. Just always be sure to buy an adapter equivalent to each battery combined, which is 1.5v x the number of batteries. 3 batteries = 4.5v. Review: Solid - Very cool! Has a nice weight to it due to the diecast metal. The screws came off fine on the back and it uses 3x triple A batteries. Nice shine to the light the box the it came in was very nice too as you can see from the video and it came with a cool little book.

Absolutely worth the price!
Two pieces of advice: 1. Make sure you have THREE AAA BATTERIES ready. I forgot to read that part. 2. Have a very tiny Phillips-head screwdriver ready. The kind made for electronics. Don't try using the one from the kitchen drawer! Super happy with this! I needed a little extra something to finish off a shelf and was on the fence about getting this. I struggled with whether the money was worth it for how much I might "like" this particular piece. In the end, as soon as I picked up the box I knew it was gonna be great. The heavy box said quality even before I opened it up. As soon as I took the piece out of the packaging I was happy with the finish on it, the details, the shape, and everything. Others complained about the screws being "plastic" or stripping out. Look...these are TINY screws. If you don't have a tiny screwdriver meant for this, GET ONE. If you stripped the screw threads, you tightened them too tight. If you stripped the screw head itself, you used the wrong screwdriver. There is nothing wrong with the quality of the screws! Don't crank them down...you are only securing the batteries. I didn’t see specs on the base size. That bothered me. The base measures pretty much exactly a 3 9/16" square footprint. The height in the description says 5.6". That is pretty close to accurate, I measured 5.5" with the angle of the light raised to its greatest point. If you had the light pointing flat, the height is about 5 1/8". As for the light, I was really surprised how nice it shines. Obviously the further you display it, the blurrier it gets. And the angle distorts it as you would expect. My photos show in my office with light on and with light off. Really awesome!

Beautiful little lamp
My original review is below, but I've since heard from the manufacturer and they have resolved the issue with the battery cover screws. Apparently, the problem was discovered and corrected prior to the lamps shipping, but my unit didn't receive the fix for some reason. I'm happy to take them at their word and upgrade my 2 star rating as this really is a great little collectible. This is really a great looking little lamp and very well made too... with one big exception. The battery cover is accessed by removing 4 little jeweler's screws on the diecast rear of the light and those screws thread through 4 little nuts on the back of the plastic battery compartment beneath. The problem is 2 out of 4 of the screws on mine spun freely because the nuts had rounded out their plastic fittings before I even attempted to loosen them. I'm guessing the factory assembly torqued the screws far too hard... which meant I couldn't get the battery cover off. After 30 minutes of prying, pulling, and patience I finally got it loose... spinning one of the nuts all the way through the plastic in the process. It still works, albeit short of two fastening screws, but what an incredibly frustrating experience. I love everything else about it... it's a fantastic little collectible and the accompanying book is very well done as well. I would have called this a bargain at under $20, but it's really too bad their manufacturing quality control isn't on par with all the design work that went into this.

Wow, hidden gem!
Can’t believe this was hidden in the books section of Amazon! My daughter has been begging for a Batman signal and it felt nearly impossible to find one. When my husband stumbled across this, we immediately bought based on reviews, and they were right!! This thing has some weight to it, very well made! Shines bright and is our daughter’s favorite part of her bedtime routine. The book that came along with it is cute too, but the quality of this signal takes the cake!

Janky battery screws likely to strip
Really awesome collectible, but the screws connecting the metal piece over the battery cover screw into plastic, not metal, and you're very likely to strip the threads. I'm VERY careful with screws. I use the proper sized drivers and I make sure to rotate counter clockwise first to allow the screw to find the threads before I start driving, I also don't tighten screws too much, and even then I managed to strip one of these screws. The plastic quality seems to be to blame. Too stiff and brittle. The die cast metal is nice but that battery housing should have gone back to the drawing board. Once it's together and working the way it should it's an awesome piece but its plastic pieces are poorly designed and manufactured. Thankfully the piece will function just fine without the metal backing over the battery housing, you could use this thing without the metal backing as long as you'd like and it would be fine, it just wouldn't be as aesthetically pleasing. It's a hefty and impressive collectible piece though, and it does what it does well. This is an affordable and solid miniature bat signal with some unfortunate engineering flaws.

Fin samlarpryl.

Good product but like everyone else has said it’s difficult to get the screws out. So be careful while doing so and purchase a good quality screw driver.
