Tetra Whisper IQ Power Filter 45 Gallons, 215 GPH, With Stay Clean Technology

I bought this filter after the filter I had for two years stopped working. This was the best price for the size I needed. Once I pulled it out of the box it was much smaller than I expected, I wasn’t sure how it was going to do in my 55gallon tank. With life & everything we had going on it took us a bit to get a new filter after our old one stopped working. During this time my tank got bad, it was green and an absolute mess. My tank was horribly disgusting and I didn’t have high hopes that this filter was going to do the job. I put this filter in and my tank is crystal clean over night. I’ve had 4 or 5 different filters over the years, this one is by far the quietest, even on the highest flow. It’s a very simple, small filter, with mighty cleaning ability.

Yo compre el de 45 gal. Chicos es excelente. Mi pecera es de 25 galones pero realmente estaba muy sucio ya que el filtro anterior se me había roto. Este nuevo filtro es impresionante. Me ha limpiado toda el agua.

We got this filter for our new tank and loved the other reviews of how it sounded. We thought it was peaceful and such a perfect fit! Unfortunately one morning we woke up to one of our catfish missing.. we found him in half stuck in the intake filter. We didn’t realize that we were missing the guard to prevent the fish from getting sucked up (this was our first fish purchase as adults). I immediately called the company to see what could be done and they apologized for the loss of our fish and are sending over the guard to us immediately. They also gave some advice on what to do for now while we wait for the guard to come in. You can tell by the pictures the big difference. At first we just thought we didn’t get the model that came with the filter, but after thoroughly reading the instructions/the box, we realized we were wrong and it was missing. So please just be careful and double check !! Wouldn’t want anybody else’s fish going the way our catfish did. RIP Captain Jack 🙏🏼

Using this on my 40 gallon tank with goldfish and a couple catfish! Keeps the water crystal clear without water changes!Also replacing the filter cartridges regularly is a scam. Wait till water barely flows through the filter then rinse off in (fishtank) water. Do this until the filter is falling apart then replace it.

Works great. Wow it’s got some power and super quiet too. Also I love the goow rate adjuster. I use it in medium flow but it can be very powerful.

I wanted to try a different option after my Whisper 20i started making a rattling noise. It is about the same noise level as the internal filter (before it broke). I had to get the 45 version because the others were out of stock, and it just barely fits in my 30-long tank. I like the adjustable flow; it can be calm or turbulent depending on what your fish like. It is much less obtrusive inside the tank, but quite large outside. Bonus points for the easy-to-read instructions with replacement parts list. I think when this eventually breaks I will try a canister filter so my fish experience less noise in the water.
