Cohasset 203 80-cm Burnt Flower Wind Chime

This wind chime was a gift for my husband. It was exactly what I was looking for in length, style & sound! The craftsmanship is great too! It takes more then a slight breeze to move it but that's because it's a big wind chime. It's very sturdy so it does well with high winds. This wind chime was the final piece needed for our serenity Koi Pond. When the wind is blowing just right it creates such a peaceful sound that helps us relax. The sound it makes is a deep soothing mellow tone. The wind chime is hanging near our pond where it gets direct sunlight. The Sun has caused the floral wood burn design to slightly fade but we don't mind it because it just adds to the beauty & charm. If you don't want the design to fade then you'll need to hang it in a shady area. I'm very happy with this purchase & my husband loves the wind chime. I'm glad I bought it!

Wow! These are big and beautiful. I purposely bought a large chime to replace another that disappeared in Storm Sandy. The descriptions of chimes are sometimes a bit misleading, as some sellers include the clapper as part of overall length and others don't. In any case this is a very large and well constructed chime. My spouse was initially concerned that it might, because of it size, be too loud. We have learned that the opposite is true. It takes a fair amount of wind to make anything but the quietist of sound. Why? Because the more massive bamboo chimes require more energy to produce audible vibrations, especially as they are pitched an octave or two below most wind chimes. Their tone is very pleasant, mellow and rounded. It makes a nice contrast to a metal set we have on the other side of the house. These are a little more expensive than most bamboo chimes, but I think the price is fair, given the construction quality and its size.

Look these are big and expensive wood chimes. You get what you pay for. They look and sound great!

These chimes are gorgeous with a nice deep sound. The wood is not super finished - more rustic in looks and feel. I live in the Midwest. I had the chimes hung inside where it was warm. When the temperature outside dropped below 0 degrees Fahrenheit this winter, the larger reeds cracked down the length of them, I think because of the dryness. No more beautiful sound, just wood thumping against wood. I contacted the seller about this, and the next day they issued a full refund for what happened! So grateful.

Love this bamboo chimes, you feel like you're in the carribbean. Such a beautiful relaxing sound. Never gets tangled, and when the wind blows the sound is so wonderful!!!!

When I first received these chimes, they were beautiful and no cracks. However, within a month of hanging on the patio, they began to fade and crack. The two largest pieces have huge cracks to the point of splitting into. I'm going to try and glue them back together, but not sure if that would work. I'd love to give a better review, but just being honest. On the flip side, they do still chime somewhat. Before they started cracking, the sound quality was good. Very soothing and pleasant. If not for the cracks, I'd give them 5 stars.

I bought this for my wife for Valentines Day thinking it would be a nice gift for her and it truly looked nice when I unpackaged it. I knew when I ordered it that i would have to restring it probably next year, Man, did I get a rude awakening! I hung it out about the 2nd of April, three days later the first and largest chime's string broke, every two or three days after each and everyone of the chimes fell off. The string is way too thin and there are no plastic or rubber grommets to protect the string from the bamboo. Worse than that - each chime split the length of the chime - not from the fall but from sitting on my work bench waiting to be re-strung. One is so badly split that I soaked it water over night to make it flexible enough to use three large hose clamps to squeeze it together close enough to glue it with water activated Gorilla glue it did not work! I will never buy anything else from Cohasset (the seller) Sad, really sad!
