Great helmet; Great Value! Used plenty already!
Hands down a wonderful helmet! Scorpion has notoriously tight cheek pads, but they thermo-form quite well after just a few decent rides. I couldn't care less about the modular function, but I will say, it locks down nice and secure and it isn't nearly as loud as modulars I've ridden with before. The drop down sun visor is also a life saver, although the tab to pull it down/push it up is harder to find than the one on my trusty EXO-1000 and I'm a bit bummed about that. It also fits a comm. System very well, with speaker cut outs that don't allow pressure points. I use a Sena 20S and it fits nice and flush on the side. Although if you opt to use the chin curtain like I do, you have to be careful when you utilize the modular function because the microphone will be in the way when you lift the face of your helmet and I would hate to damage my Sena; simple fix would be to not use the chin curtain if you use a comm. System, but again, I don't much care for the modular trend, and I'm keeping the chin curtain on mine for warmth and quiet. Vents are also well executed- they do more than just preventing the visor from fogging: you can actually feel a nice cooling air flow when they're open! A concept missed by many of my previous helmets. All in all, a beautiful helmet and IMHO the best bang for your buck.

Great Beginner Helmet!
Bought this for my new dual sport after using my dirt bike helmet, the wind noise past 50 mph was very rough but this fixed that. I wear a large with my Bell Moto-9 and ordered a large here. Fit perfectly. I installed my mount for my Cardo, and it fit very well though the speaker was a little tricky to get in between the liner. I was worried about the ears being too tight with earplugs in but it is not an issue. The built-in sun shade is extremely nice. And then the flip up face makes it much easier to take off so it doesn't feel like I am ripping the skin out of my ears from the earplugs. If I have any complaints, it would be that the sun visor on top of the helmet doesn't move and honestly doesn't block that much sun. It is almost more cosmetic at that point. The ventilation isn't amazing. It's passable but doesn't throughout the helmet. Also, it would be much nicer if the liner was removable. My Cardo headphone wires are just tucked in wherever I can find a spot. Whereas the wires in my Moto-9 are hidden. Speaking of the Moto-9, I really wish this helmet had MIPS. Being an off-road guy, this technology has saved my head on more than one occasion. I almost didn't get this helmet for that reason but there were too many cool features to ignore. Now I know what you're thinking: this guy's complaints are just as big as his positives. This is true but I am also nit-picking. A lot of what I stated is what would make a perfect helmet for me. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase. It has made riding far more comfortable. I love the flip-down sun shade and how comfortable it is. Would I recommend this to others? I already have. If Scorpion made a $400 model with all the things I have listened above, would I buy it? Absolutely!

Great all-around helmet, but try one on first if you can - small sizing.
I've been riding with this helmet for a couple months now and I really like it a lot. I'm not an adventure rider, but I have some vision issues where glare causes some major issues. I picked this helmet as it has a peak which blocks quite a bit of that glare if I'm facing the sun. I ride only on paved roads, but I've gone up to about 80 mph with the peak attached and other than being kind of loud, I'm able to do head checks with no issues and have not had any issues with neck fatigue as of yet. Unfortunately the peak is NOT adjustable, but is easily removed. This helmet fits very tight. I typically wear an adult small and this helmet fits, but is maybe a little tighter than it should be. It feels better after the break-in period and its my understanding that alternate cheek pads can be ordered in the next size up to help with this (I haven't done this yet). I have a cheapie Bluetooth receiver attached and there isn't quite as much room in this helmet for the microphone as some other helmets I've used, but it fits well enough. There are cutouts for the speakers and holes in the liner to help prevent muffling the sound too much. Unfortunately, I can't seem to talk on the phone with anyone if I'm going above about 45 MPH due to how loud the helmet gets. This may be resolved by removing the peak, but I haven't tried it yet. I've ridden at about 40 degrees to 85 degrees in this helmet so far and it keeps my head pretty warm. At 85 I can tell it could use a bit more venting/airflow. I use a pretty thin wet skull cap when it gets hot and found after riding a while that I feel pressure near the temples and forehead.. Again, smaller sizing - I'm sure the next size up would fix this. Overall I really like this helmet a lot and for the price point with all of its features, you can't go wrong.

Amazing helmet that needs breaking-in period
Just opened it and took it for a spin!! Here's a few quick notes, followed by details. 1 - the reviews about the cheek pads are accurate. They're very tight. 2 - very quiet helmet 3 - the peak is great for low speeds, not so great for high speeds. 4 - the drop down visor is great for tint, not so much at wind protection. 5 - interior wind channels are amazing at keeping your dome cool. 6 - modular switch is a pull lever instead of a push button. 7 - vent and visor interfaces are smooth and intuitive. 8 - all around great helmet for the price. Would definitely recommend. Details: The first thing I noticed when I put the helmet on was how tight the cheek pads were. After an hour long ride, my cheeks/jaw were a bit sore from how tight they were. However, all helmets need some form of break in period. Once I wear the helmet more, I imagine the helmet will conform to my features and become more comfortable with use. The helmet is much, much quieter than my last helmet. There's a slight whistle from the passage of air through the channels, but my bluetooth system is easy to hear even at..... over highway speeds. I had planned on removing the peak anyway, but wanted to see how it would feel. At low speeds, it channels tons of air into the top vent and keeps your head very stable. Once you get past 45mph, it starts catching the wind and whipping your head around. If you ride with a passenger, they will have an industrial blower on their helmet. The peak funnels air across the top vent and straight backwards. My passenger said they had a hard time keeping their head steady from the funneled air. With the peak removed, there was still plenty of airflow through the top vent at highway speeds, just a little less at low speeds. In addition, if you ride with the visor open or removed, the peak will cause extra gusts to curl in the sides and behind the drop down visor. As for the visor, i'm new to helmets with them, so i'm not sure if they're all like this, but it does not work so well for wind protection. It's obviously better than without, but even with the visor down, I still got plenty of wind around the back, which dried out my contacts after only a few minutes. The tint is great for reducing glare without being too dark. But if you like to ride with the visor up, it's no substitute for a good pair of sunglasses. The wind channels built into the helmet do a very good job of funneling air around your head and keeping the whole helmet comfortably cool. I really like that the modular switch is pull instead of push. In a crash, there's much less chance of the button getting hit and popping the top up.

... was an open box item missing a few things like the side covers
I purchased this through Amazon's Warehouse deals as it was an open box item missing a few things like the side covers, manual, etc. I figured I would just procure them later if I needed them. I Upon visiting Scorpion's website I found they don't list the side covers as something you can buy, so I e-mailed their support line to see what I can do about getting them. A few days later I get an e-mail back from their office asking for my shipping address so they can send them free of charge to me. A couple days later I get a package containing said side covers, plus a manual, plus a chin curtain! Totally awesome company and will definitely be keeping them in mind for my future gear purchases! As for the helmet itself the fit is definitely tight around the front part of my cheeks but I prefer that tight fit over my previous helmet that would seem to move around my entire head while traveling down a windy road. The adventure peak doesn't seem to catch as much wind as I thought it would on the highway but they did generate a bit a noise at higher speeds. I have since switched it back to the regular side covers for daily driving. The modular function operates smoothly and the internal visor is a huge plus. I haven't had the exterior visor fog up on me yet but the internal one does a little but if I'm breathing heavy at a stop but once in motion it quickly clears up. I have installed a Sena 10C and the speakers fit perfectly in the helmet's speaker cutouts. The only issue I had was the Sena's bracket wasn't contoured to this helmets curvature so I had to improvise some rubber spacers to make sure it would clamp down tight. All in all a great helmet for the money and an awesome company to deal with!

Has all traits of a Scorpion helmet
I'm not writing a bad review. I've been wearing an HJC modular helmet. This is what first noticed with this helmet. It's tight on your cheeks. If your border line on sizes go to bigger. It's hell getting thin frame glasses on after you put on helmet. It's quieter than my HJC. This having large shield let's more light in and annoying driving into the sun. The turn down lips on the faces held are annoying when up. They are right in your field if view. The visor is too high to block sunlight. I guess it's just for cosmetic purposes only. Just things you may need to get use to. I have another Scorpion helmet that is tight. I ordered smaller cheek pads for it. This is a nice looking, well made helmet. The visor screws made to hold visor and beak are a bit fussy to change. When changing visor put screws in and tighten down. Make sure its in right slots and works then remove screws and install beak making sure it's still in right position.

Outstanding helmet at a CRAZY $ discount!
This is my second Scorpion EXO AT-950…after 2 Shoei Neotecs (Street) and a LS2 (Dirt). I will NEVER go back to a non modular helmet. The Scorpion combines a massive view area with reasonable weight and the convenience of eating, talking, or drinking something without removing your helmet. My sunglasses slip on easier with the helmet face portion up too. This helmet compares with $1000+ models by BMW and Schubert, for much less$$ and the comm isn’t proprietary. At $300, Scorpions have always been a good value. They never seem to go on sale though. When they ARE discounted, they are usually an XS or a M. I have a larger head. When I found this model, color , and even available in the my size!!! At 1/3 the price on Amazon…I bought immediately. (BTW…Great vendor…arrived in perfect condition and very safely double boxed.). My last Scorpion was an XL…this is a XXL…but I can’t tell the difference at all. It is brand new, so the pads are snug, but those break in. I’m in California, so I removed the double shield and installed the silver tinted single-layer style from my old Scorpion helmet. I also replaced the helmet buckle with a Ryde Wear quick release unit (sold here on Amazon) I had a Sena 20S in my last helmet with a boom mike. I use it for music, audiobooks, podcasts, and necessary phone calls only. I don’t really use the intercom function as I don’t want to “chat” while I’m enjoying the solitude of a motorcycle ride. I’d rather talk later over a coffee, cold beer, etc. I’ve been riding for 45 years and I understand that not everyone shares this opinion. To each his own. Enjoy your bike your way …thats what makes riding so special. I will install a Cardo this time with the JBL speakers. Sena used Harmon Kardon’s and they were fine but I think new tech vastly improves every a few years. The helmet has speaker cutouts and installation was easy. The helmet fits well and ventilates well for a full face helmet in California…I ride 342 days a year. Nothing is wonderful when it’s 100 degrees🤷🏽♂️…when it’s cold, or windy, or more mild, it’s very comfortable…I usually ride with the shield up and ANSI rated glasses. The controls for the visor, internal sun visor, and vents are easy to use with gloves as well as intuitive. Wind noise isn’t bad, vents are ok, I like that you can replace the interior liner, shields, etc. Lots of customizable options to make the helmet perfect for you. Weight is fine for me. Quality is great from Scorpion. It is by FAR my favorite helmet. The Shoei was $650 and heavy! I also felt more confined with its smaller view window. I prefer the Scorpion. So…quality, fit, cool styles, convenience, great visibility, customizable options, fantastic price point from a quality vendor with Amazon’s return policy. Really…what’s to decide???? Enjoy your ride! RS

Really great modular helmet
It was hard to choose a new helmet, especially without being able to try it in person. I think this one runs slightly small, based on the manufacturer info and user feedback I picked XXL. I typically use an xl for most helmets but im on the upper end. This XXL fits perfect! The modular feature is nice and the eye port is awesome! Much better field of view than any other full face helmet I’ve owned. I like that the visor is removable, and hardware is included to run this without the visor. Modular helmets can be noisy, I’ve been disappointed by how loud some really nice looking helmets are. I’ve found this one to be quite quiet and very comfortable.
