5 Stars – Works Wonders Without Scaring the Hummingbirds!
I’ve had the XPCARE Bird Scare Ribbon installed on my home for about two months now, and I’m genuinely impressed with how well it works. I was battling persistent crows tearing up my trash bags and ravaging my garden, hawks lurking too close for comfort, and cliff swallows trying to nest on my home. This reflective ribbon has completely changed the game.A couple of things to know: While it’s labeled as “tape,” it’s actually more of a ribbon, so you’ll need to use tape, tacks, or clips to secure it to buildings or structures. That said, it’s easy to work with and holds up well outdoors. One of my biggest hesitations before purchasing was whether it would scare off the hummingbirds I love to watch—but thankfully, it doesn’t bother them at all. They still come around daily without any issues. The results have been so noticeable that even my neighbors have started using it to protect their homes. I absolutely recommend this product if you’re looking for a non-invasive, affordable, and effective way to deter unwanted birds while still keeping the friendly ones around.

I'm ecstatic with the result!
Several weeks ago I started getting an unwelcome surprise every time I opened my front door. A bird was apparently roosting on the light fixture and leaving a mess all down the wall which puddled on the concrete floor below. It was annoying and exceedingly difficult to remove. I had to use hot water, strong cleaning product, and a wire brush to remove it from the concrete and I was concerned that removing the mess from the painted siding on a daily basis was going to eventually impact the paint job since it took some strong rubbing to get the stuff off. Out of desperation I grabbed some brightly colored toys from my grandson's stash that I could temporarily wrap around the top of the light fixture. This solved the problem but look crazy, to say the least. I had seen the flash tape advertised but had my doubts that it could work. It just seemed too easy. After reassurance from a relative who has used the flash tape successfully, I ordered it and tied a few lengths of the tape to the top of the light fixture and we've had no more problem. Someone who's never had this issue may wonder why we have the flash tape wrapped around the top of the light fixture like ribbon on a gift, but it's a vast improvement over that daily mess. It's only noticeable when you're right up on the porch. You can't see it from the street.

Does Not Work
So here's my story...I live in an apartment that has a balcony, and I got these pigeons that are claiming my balcony as their home. They've been making a lot of noise and I've been chasing them out, and it started to get annoying that I had to get up out of bed early in the morning to do this. So I researched online to see what I can do to keep these birds off my balcony permanently. I came across this tape ribbon and decided to try it out. So I put these all over my balcony, in hopes that it would solve my problem. It did not. The birds continue to hang out on my balcony as if they were immune to the tape ribbon. They even had eggs, and eventually baby pigeons, so I couldn't even chase them away. So now I have to wait for these little pigeons to grow till I can chase them off my balcony. FML.

Works like a charm.
For many years I've had an issue with birds nesting up in the rafters of my patio (I live in a multi-leveled condo building). I tried everything. I tried placing two large owls on the patio. That didn't work. I had those metal spikes installed to deter the birds. They used the spikes as a means to stabilize their nests. I kept knocking the nests down and they would come back and immediately rebuild a new one. I hung out a windchime and wind catcher. They used the wind catcher to stand on and rode it like you would a carnival ride. Finally, as a last resort I tried the scare tape. I must admit I held little hope in it working. I had the tape cut in strips and hung from the two by fours the length of the patio. To my amazement....it worked!!!! It's been almost two weeks and no birds. AND it was extremely reasonably priced. I'm ecstatic.

Does not work?… works somewhat
Does not work, pigeons just land and sit on the tape when it is cloudy. There is no adhesive on the "tape" so you have to use another adhesive tape or glue to attach this.Oops, just read you have to use strips of the tape to flap in the wind to scare off birds. Will see… Box did not come with instructions so initially just taped it to the guardrail and a pigeon just landed on it haha..Changed to strips of tape flapping in the wind and pigeons were less likely to hang around, but they still landed on our balcony intermittently. Much less pigeon crap left on our balcony however...

Good product to scare birds and animals out of buildings
Best deterrent for birds I’ve had. Just a couple strips hanging inside a building and birds have stopped building nest inside. I think the width is the trick, slightest air movement makes the strip reflect light and scares birds and other animals.

Seems to work, just not sturdy enough
Seemed to work to keep the blackbirds from raiding my outdoor chicken feeders. Unfortunately the tape only lasted 4 days before the wind shredded it away at the point of attachment. It is VERY thin, shiny plastic, needs to be much sturdier. I'll look for a better product.
