Upcut Spiral Flush Trim Router Bit, 1/4 Inch Shank Solid Carbide Flush Trim Router Bits Spiral with Nano Coated by EANOSIC (1/4" Shank Up-Cut)

I was needing to make a copy of a template using a straight cut bit with a bearing. I discovered that this arrangement only works for edge trimming as it wouldn't clear out the trimmings from cut. Found this bit with the spiral groove that forces the cutting out through the top of the cut. It work remarkably well and ended the dust buildup that was causing the straight bit to get stuck. If you're trying to cut to a template, this is the perfect bit. No more backing out to clear the dust clogs. I highly recommend.

If you've never tried them, seriously, get one now. I've always used flush cut bits. Decades, still used flush cut bits. Until I decided to try one of these. I'll never go back to regular flush cut bits. These are amazing. I've run dozens of passes using these bits, and they still throw perfectly blade shaped chips like slicing a potato. The correct up/down bit will hold your work against the surface if you're using an overarm router or fixed base router. In a word, the right bit, and they're perfect. Only suggestion I can give for outstanding performance is to trim whatever you're working on as close to the final shape as you can. They will cut with full contact like going through a board to cut out a pattern. But, trimmed close they glide through like butter and won't pull away from what you're working with. I bought several of each, and I'll never go back to straight flush cut bits.

Great, clean trims. Ensure that there's no more than 1/16-3/32 inch material left to trim. Otherwise the bit may grab the material and kickback, or may break off. Depending on the shape to be trimmed, I cut closely with a bandsaw, or sand close enough using a spindle sander, before flush trimming.
