Don't buy very disappointing.
Don't buy this knife. This is not a real kukri knife. This is a cheap knock off. Very disappointing. I like the fact that it has some weight to it, because of the shape I have a hard time getting it in and out of it's carring case. It is very tight and hard to pull out but frustrating to put back in. the tip of the blade keeps getting stuck and keeps the knife from going in easily. i don't even want to use it because is a pain to remove. The sharpness was disappointing. The edge was sharp in some places but dull in other places. I love the look of the case but the loop for your belt are supper stiff and digs into my side. defensively will not become my favorite knife. In fact after having The knife for about 2 months. The case shrank and so did the wood handles. The grip is no longer smooth and it too 2 different people and 30minutes to get it out of the shrinking case. Needless to say but it was not going back into the case. The knife is not precision as it is advertised. Too expensive for all the disappointments. I say keep looking for another knife. You will be unhappy with this one.

Listen to me now and hear me later!
The knife appears to be made relatively tough. However, at least in my case, it was not well treated. All three knives arrived rusty and with blemishes (on the blades, the handles are ok.) Assuming the kukri is as tough as it feels, I don't think the integrity of the knife is compromised in any way, but I'm oiling and trying to polish mine up now. I don't think it's ever going to look as nice as it once did. (This isn't a huge problem for me because I wanted it as a tool, not just a conversation piece. But for the price that's ridiculous.)This knife may very well be well made, it certainly seems to be. But it was not well cared for and that is just as important! The sheath is pretty much a total loss. It took me a good ten minutes to pry and beat the knife out. I seriously doubt I could get it all the way in again if I tried. For the price it was offered at, I feel betrayed as a customer. If you have a well built and well cared for knife, that's spectacular. This one was abused. I am deliberating returning it, because between the rust and the sheath quality frankly it's simply ridiculous.I'd estimate you have a 50/50 chance of getting a quality blade on your order. If you are not willing to take those odds don't choose this knife. Go find one where everyone in the reviews says the sheath works. If you have to invest a few more dollars to be certain of the quality, take a deep breath and fork over the extra money for a different knife. Just do it.I will include a few pictures with the blemishes. Please keep in mind these are taken after wiping at the blade.

thick and takes a very nice edge. The two smaller pieces are crudely finished
If you're looking for a mirror-finished showroom piece, well, this isn't it; however, if you're looking for a tool that will chop through tough brush, or, wade into the zombie apocalypse and not break, then this is your knife. I deducted a star because the belt loops on the sheath seem flimsy, but the knife itself is massive, thick and takes a very nice edge. The two smaller pieces are crudely finished, with one for dressing the cutting edges of your knife and one for smaller utility cutting jobs. The edge on that one required a bit more sharpening. The Kukri is a very rugged tool, with a cool profile and history. I'm glad to add it to my collection.

Fantastic tool! I've had mine for about 6 months now and can easily say it's the best utility tool I've ever had. I do biological field work and use it everyday. It chops like an axe, carves like a knife, digs like a trowel, and clears brush like a machete. Keeps an edge when used on wood but resharpens quickly after used for digging in gravely soil. It's not stainless and will quickly rust if not oiled and the the sheath isn't as amazing as the tool itself. With that said, I don't consider either an issue. I slightly reshaped the handle to better fit my personal preference. Of course these are hand made so there are "imperfections" as some have noted, but none of mine were issues and only give it charactesr and shows it's story. Highly recommend!

Quick shipping! Great blade!
I received my kukri within 3 days after ordering, shipped from Kathmandu Nepal, which to me was impressive time! So far I am very pleased with its design. The blade throughout the edge was decently sharp out of the box. The "sweet spot", for chopping, was slightly dull, which is easy fix with a whetstone or high grit sandpaper. The blade is thick and wielding feels great! There are a few low profile scratches here and there which is to be expected since it is handmade. I personally don't mind them as they add character to the blade. Wood grip is ergonomic and aligned well with the full tang metal. On a side note, the reason I bought this kukri over the villager model was for the full tang and the hole for wrist lanyard attachment. One suggestion I would make would be a full tang with the traditional pomel swell and hole for a lanyard to maximize grip while chopping. One complaint, the sheath retention was not good, the blade wasn't snug it was loose and wobbled in the sheath. Not a big deal as with most stock sheath designs are not good anyways, with a little ingenuity I just made my own and it functions beautifully. I plan on doing some testing; chopping dead trees, and will edit this review with my results at a later date.Awesome Kukri! Thank you Kukri House!

Excellent value
Bought this kukri for my son. Wasn't expecting much (never heard of GK&CO), but it surprised me. It arrived sharp and my son chopped through 2 inch branches with ease and no damage to the blade. Definitely strong carbon steel (5160 according to them). The sheath seems to be made of leather-wrapped wood. Took us a while to figure out how to sheath it (takes a lot of wiggling), but once in, it's snug. I'm thinking of getting one of these for my own collection.

Excelente cuchillo. Excelente compra!!.
Excelente!!

Came only three days after I ordered it. Was so happy till I took it out of the sheath ( which was a task in of itself). The blade was very pourly ground and sharpened, not even close to straight ( about 1/4 " off the center of the handle). The handle was cracked as well. Really disappointed. I have returned it and have ordered a different model from kukri house in hopes of redemption.

Muy filoso.
Grande, muy filoso y lubricado. No tiene la muesca en la porción inferior y proximal en la hoja, como otros cuchillos de este tipo. Pero sin duda el mejor cuchillo de los que tengo.

Blade is bent slightly and the rivets not flush against the handle leaving enough of a sharp edge to cut my fingers. The two small accessory pieces were rusted. Garbage!
