Q: Does the NAS support 4TB nvme m.2 drives?

Hi, I have the 4tb in mine and it works great. I think it will take upto the 8tb. Its a great unit in my opinion.

Q: Considering replacing my aging asustor as 204te with this for streaming through plex, how easy is it to set up with the drives from the old nas?

I think that it will work as the drives are formatted as ext4 with your current NAS. I too was thinking about doing the same from my 5004t but decided to go the whole hog and bought 4 new Iron wolf drives and stuck them in. You could always try to see if it does work, if not, then get new drives for the NAS and copy the files from the old one to the new one which is what I did. I have had this NAS since April and it has exceeded all of my expectations, streams 4K movies with Atmos to my system no problem, although I do not use Plex, I'm using Emmy as my server (did not get on with Plex at all)
