Soundcore by Anker Life A3i Noise Cancelling Wireless Earbuds, Bluetooth 5.2, Hybrid ANC, Deep Bass, AI-Enhanced Calls with 6 Mics, 40H Playtime, Fast Charging, 22 Custom EQ, Transparency Mode

I got these hoping for literally any noise reduction at all during construction in our apartment building, right upstairs. I do have some Sony over-ear noise cancelling headphones that are kind of unreal, how good they are, but there's a problem, I have some fairly serious issues with jaw tension and the nerves in my jaw and face, and wearing the over-ear ones for long periods of time causes the pain to flare up really badly, so I wasn't going to be able to rely solely on those. I got them hoping, but not expecting. I was very pleasantly surprised. Now, a caveat - I seem to have fairly large ear canals, and so as a standard practice, I pop on some large memory foam eartips on literally all in-ear headphones I get, so they'll actually stay in my dang ears, and it also adds a level of noise isolation, too. (I mean, they're basically foam earplugs with holes for the headphones, after all.) I have tried these earbuds with the silicone tips they come with, and they still do a surprisingly good job, but if you really want the best performance out of these, buy yourself some memory foam eartips to go with them. (The ones I have that fit accommodate earbud tips between 4.5mm and 5.6mm.) The only downside is you're going to need a little bag for them and the teeny tiny little charging case (seriously, it's so small), because with the foam eartips on, they do NOT fit properly into the charging case to make a connection. Battery life is surprisingly good for tiny little things like this. I'm afraid I don't have a proper hour measure, I've not worn them out to 0% yet when I'm wearing them. One thing I'll say is that the sound is VERY bass heavy, to me. However, I'm fairly biased, as my usual headphones (other than those over-ear Sonys) are all in-ear monitors that are 'tuned' to have a flatter response than most of the 'average' headphones out there, so this is probably closer to how most headphones these days are tuned, really, and it's just all in what you expect. Still, it's startling to me, at least. Now, how is this impressive noise cancelling, really? Is it as good as the over-ears? No. No it isn't, but I didn't expect that, especially at this price point. Those other headphones, those are $300. These were $45. Obviously there's going to be a difference. Things that the expensive ones will mute to all but entirely silent, if not silent, ARE audible with these. However, it makes everything very surprisingly quieter. Louder noises sound "farther away". It even managed to make the banging of the construction upstairs sound fainter and further away than the earplugs alone, so it's not purely those memory foam tips carrying the entire weight. In fact, I found when I tried wearing these out, to listen to something at the grocery store, it was unnervingly good at muffling everything. I ended up swapping over to the included silicone tips there, because they did let in a little more of the sound around me and it didn't feel quite so odd! To sum these up: If you're comparing these to expensive, high end headphones with active noise cancellation, as long as you're aware that this is a totally different price bracket, I think you'll be quite pleasantly surprised how well these tiny little things somehow manage to compete in terms of noise cancellation. If you're willing to carry everything in a little case or bag, adding memory foam eartips makes it even better. They're bass-forward sound, and I wouldn't say they're the best sound of anything I've ever used, but that's not why you're buying noise cancelling earbuds, really, is it? You want something adequate in the sound department, above average in noise cancellation, and generally punching above its price class, right? If so, that's these.

I purchased the Soundcore by Anker Life A3i Noise Cancelling Wireless Earbuds, Bluetooth 5.2, Hybrid ANC about half a month ago. At the time, my wired earbuds started to fall apart and stop working so I was just looking for a replacement. I knew I wanted to go wireless this time so I checked around and found these on Amazon for Anker. My criteria: price, quality, comfort, battery life and ease of use. 1) Price - I knew I didn't want to spend more than $50 bucks for a pair of earbuds. With the average life span of wireless earbuds lasting only a couple of years, I didn't find it necessary to spend any more money. I paid around $35 for these and found that to be a reasonable price. 2) Quality - When I bought these, I just wanted something that allowed me to play music with decent sound while allowing me to also take phone calls if needed for a hands free experience. In my personal experience these buds have met my expectations of both. 3) Comfort: These buds come with 3 sets of tips: small, medium and large. The default tips on the buds are medium and I found that fit my ears just fine without any issue. 4) Battery: With the case, I can easily get through a couple of days of use. I use my buds moderately so I find myself only charging them once a week (depending on how you use them, your mileage may vary). 5) Ease of Use: For me, they were straight forward. There is a Soundcore app by Anker in the app store you can download to your device if you want to tweak any of the sound settings or what the number of presses on each buds is charge of. You will need both buds paired to change of the sound settings but again pretty straight forward. If you want to just use the default settings, you don't even need the app. Overall, I am pleased with these earbuds. For the price that I paid, I couldn't be happier.

I loved this earbud. I got it on Prime day for $35, a steal. As expected from Anker, the earbuds arrived well-built. I love the built-in magnet on the case which is stronger than most of the buds I’ve ever owned (Jabra, AKG, AirPods to name a few) to keep it shut. It was a breeze to install and use the app. The user interface is very intuitive. And not very often, I love this app, they have a bunch of prebuilt equalizers and a community too, and they also have white noise and bass up mode available in the app. By all means, I’m not an audiophile, but I can be confident saying that this earbuds sounds better than anything around its price range and even better than some of the middle range (like the AirPods). The Active noise cancellation feature is not the best but you can tell it is there, and it is helpful. It’s not great but it’s not bad. It’s icing on the cake making my $35 earbuds rival the $100 tier. However, I had to return it. Because, the design of the buds makes it really hard to taking it off without almost dropping it every single time. And these did not come with the ear hooks which would make it a little bit easier. I have smaller hands and it’s still a hassle for me to remove them. And that’s just a minor problem. The main reason why I returned them is that, well I really had bad luck with gadgets. I might receive a bad unit that the ANC feature stopped working on one of the buds after around a week of use. So I have no choice but to return them and upgrade my current AirPods to an AirPods Pro bc ANC matters most to me.

Got these after my Powerbeats Pro bit the dust. I am extremely impressed at the feature set - active noise canceling and transparency mode are usually only available in headphones 4 times the price. This was my first time having phones with ANC, and I have been deeply impressed. I do not know how they compare to other ANC headphones. The transparency mode is subtle, but it does feel almost as if I don't have headphones in when it's on. The sound quality is great! I wouldn't recommend these to an audiophile, but when comparing to my powerbeats pro, I find the sound to be quite enjoyable on these. They can connect to two devices at the same time, so I can listen to music and be available for calls on two different phones, which is absolutely awesome. The app gives you lots of configuration options, but is lacking some that I would sorely love to have: -there are control options for what button presses do. When both earphones are in, you can single press, double press, or hold the button on either phone to do different things. needs a triple-press option. When one headphone is in, you literally drop to half the available options. -ANC and transparency mode do not work when only 1 headphone is used, meaning you are partly deaf in one ear if people are talking to you. They are comfy, and generally stay in my ears without issue for the vast majority of my activities. My job is very physical, so they do start to slip or get knocked out when my earwax starts to melt from body heat. If they had the same features on an over the ear model, that would be great. Despite those detractors, I like these things enough that I am likely to never drop $200 on earbuds again.

*UPDATE* I bought these back in April and now the left ear bud barely works. I take really good care of stuff that I buy, esp when it comes to anything electronic. I used them every day for pretty much the whole day and they were great until the left ear bud started barely working. the sound is extremely muffled and quiet. and like an idiot, I did not buy the insurance with them. that's definitely on me. they're pretty awesome ear buds but definitely get the insurance with them if you decide to purchase these. I got mine this afternoon and I've pretty much had them in this whole time. there was a couple small chunks of time that I had them out, which did give them the opportunity to recharge. I love them so far. they're really comfortable in my ears. I've just had them on in my house but I didn't hear my dog bark earlier so they do cancel some nose. this is def the nicest pair of ear buds I've purchased for myself. since I was a kid, I've always bought cheap headphones/ear buds bc I always seem to tear them up some way, some how lbvs. if these lady last my at least a year, then they are durable 😅 every wireless ear bud I've had only seems to last 6 months. any way, I love the app that you download for the earbuds and being able to quickly change the equalizer on it. which has 22 different options b plus the option to do a custom equalizer levels. I think they have great sound quality and good bass. the battery is pretty awesome on them as well. the couple of short breaks I've taken them out, they went from almost dead to fully charged. and like I said, they were short breaks. I'm pretty happy with them especially bc they were not that expensive. i did catch them on sale plus I had a $10 credit that I used for it, but still, even full price they would be worth it in my opinion.

I purchased the Sony WF-1000XM4 ear buds a couple of years ago and have been happy with them. Really like taking them on planes to drown out the engine. However, recently they've started not holding a charge longer than 30 min and looks to be an issue many users are having. Anywho... I purchased these Soundcores just to get me by for my Zoom meetings because the Sony's kept failing me. I cannot believe how good these compare to earbuds I've paid almost 5 times as much for! Sound: Comparing the sound between the two...I can't tell a difference and I consider myself to be an audiphile. The bass is deep but not overbearing and the mids are good. All types of audio will sound good in these. Plus the app has pre-configured EQ settings to leverage. Noise Cancelling: Admittedly the Sony's have better noise cancelling, but I don't think the difference is worth the price. The Soundcore's NC is good enough and way better than I expected for the price range. Features: One thing that annoyed the hell out of me with the Sonys is they don't function unless you have both earbuds in your ear. The Ankers allows you to wear one at a time. Perfect for work. Another thing I like is the Ankers have button on the earbuds instead touch. This means I could take nap with them on if I wanted without having to worry about the touch being activated by a pillow or something. The Ankers are much smaller but have similar battery life. I trust Anker and their experience with creating battery/charging solutions and, I hope that two years from now my earbuds will not have a dramatic drop off in battery life (fingers crossed)....but if they did, for the price, I won't be too mad about it. With the Sonys I'm pissed...for the price they should have lasted at least 5 years. If you're torn between dropping out $100-300 for some earbuds or getting these Soundcores, I suggest trying out the Soundcores. The quality you get for the price, I cannot see how anyone could be dissapointed.

The sound quality in these headphones are fantastic. So I was super excited about this amazing find at such a great price, until...... After using them for a couple weeks they needed recharging (I don't use them for a long time each day). After pulling them out the next time, the left ear bud was showing low battery and would only work for about 10 seconds. So I tried charging them again, same results. At this point I followed the "troubleshooting helps" and tried charging 2 more times, still nothing. At this point I am outside of the return window. So I contact the manufacturer and request a warranty refund. I jump through several hoops and and required to send them several emails with different request for information. I am pretty sure they are hoping that I will just give up. But I am stubborn. So I continue. They finally give in and let me know they will be sending me a replacement pair, which was great for me. Because of you remember they do have great sound. My new pair shows up, they work great! Until they need recharging AGAIN. Then again, same problem. I was hoping this time it would be the right ear that doesn't charge, because then I would have a complete set. No such luck!! The same left ear bud will not charge for anything. I followed troubleshooting again same problems continue. Now I have no receipt for the second pair so I have nothing to send to the manufacturer for another pair or a warranty exchange. What do I do now?!? Just save yourself the trouble and don't buy them. Learn from me.

I've now experienced using the Life A3i ear buds for about 4 months and they have been great. I've always had good luck with products from the Anker family and this one from their Soundcore group did not disappoint. The build quality is solid and high-quality, and I think the features and performance especially for this and even higher price points are among the best. The buds are comfortable, they go a long time in between battery charges, and I have them connected to my Android cell and tablet, which the connection is flawless on both whether talking, listening to music or watching videos. I've used them for wireless calling in my home office and the sound quality is clear on both ends. I enjoy bicycling and have them on and connected to my cell when out riding. I'm able to talk and hear clearly to my significant other with no interferences and she says she can hear me just fine, even when I'm riding at 10-15 MPH. Music and/or cell notifications come through loud and clear. Plus, they stay in my ears. There are some comments here that the ANC could be better. I think the ANC is just fine. Keep in mind, that these are ear buds and not over-the-ear/earmuff style headphones. Plus, there are 3 settings in the app that allow you different levels related to noise cancelling, maybe the others don't realize this and have their ANC turned off. The app has an equalizer with many preset settings for different music genres and if you need additional variables, you can customize the equalizer. If you are in the market for new ear buds, I would suggest that you owe it to yourself to give these a look. This has been my experience with this product and hope that you too that your listening experience is also as favorable as mine has been.

I love the earbuds, I normally go with $30 budgeg earbuds but Im very happy that I spent a little bit more this time and bought these. This is the first earbuds that I had with active noise cancelling feature, and its fantastic!! It doesnt completely cancel out all the noise, but Id say it gets rid of a big chunk of the noise around me when Im not listening to anything. And once I start listening to something, I could barely hear any noise from around me. Its really great to have this feature on this price range. The transparency mode also is great. I normally have my earbuds most of the time at work, so when I have the mode switched on, I dont need to constantly take off my earbuds when someone is talking to me. I just hit pause and I can quite clearly hear what people are saying to me. Its also a big plus having actual buttons compared to the extremely annoying touch controls that many earbuds have. Buttons are a bit on the smaller side, but you get used to it after awhile. Having the app is a wonderful extra, that allows you to customize the button functions. The battery life is great, but the quoted 9 hours is definitely when the active noise cancelling or transparency mode is OFF. When I have either functions turned on, the battery life does plummet a bit. Its not a dealbreaker though. For earbuds this size, i really cant complain about the battery. I do have one suggestion though, the app allows you to customize a button function that switches between the listening modes (noise cancelling, transparency mode & normal). When you use this button function, the earbuds give a distinct "beep" sound to tell you that it has switched modes. But its kinda hard to know which mode you are currently in. It would be useful to have the option that gives you a voice prompt, instead of the beep sound.

These earphones are great, they fit well and stay inside very well. Noise cancelation and sound modes are also good for this price point (AED 129). Charging time and battery life great for the small size. Sound is good and clear, bass and quality of material is also decent. The physical button on the side is a 100 times better than the touch prompts on some other models as it is very reliable and straight forward to customize. Call quality and mic is not good, but this is the same issue with most blutooth earphones from all brands. These earphones are great for listening to audio and podcasts while moving around without having to worry about them falling. It is not suitable for having Zoom meetings or taking phone calls. Highly recommemd these earphones especially because of the responsive physical buttons 👍🏼

Things I like about these: - It works, build quality seems good - The battery lasts long enough for everything I need - The app works, I can easily switch ANC modes and see the battery level - Good sound isolation, good fit in my ears. The silicone insert are a good size (includes 3 sets to choose from) - They're small and comfortable to wear all day. Black and discrete, no bright blinking lights on the ear buds Things that could be better: - the sound quality for music is good enough for the price but not as good as other earphones I've used before.
