Scholastic Success With Reading Tests: Grade 5

I have bought all the grade levels of these books. I use them to teach ESL classes. The books are better than using children’s books as the topics are relevant for adult learning. The articles are short enough to use multiple stories in an hour class. An easy and interesting was to teach grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. The vocabulary pages are helpful for teaching synonyms and antonyms. Also the price is very low for the quality of content.

This book touches on all the topics needed to be successful on reading exams. Main idea, vocabulary, inferences, cause & effect, fact & opinion and so much more. This book was worth the purchase and has been a great addition to help our child with test taking.

It does the job. Good encouragement and refresher for kids who sometime rather not do book work.

I use as warm-up for my 6th grade grandson. I have him do only one segment. He can do it in a minute or two before he works on 6th grade reading comprehension. It has synonyms and antonyms, too. Each problem comes with a very short paragraph and maybe 3-4 questions. Just to keep up his study habit is my objective. So he can tackle his classwork papers. It is great for short attention span kids like him.

Liked that it was an easy and educational option for my kiddos for schooling and they enjoyed the content.

Although I fight tooth and nail against the standardized-test trend, I plan to assimilate my children back into classroom education eventually and would like them to be familiar with standardized test format. This book is not really what we typically call a "workbook" (although it is named such), since all of our other workbooks devote at least some time explaining or teaching concepts. Instead, this book is formatted exactly like a standardized test, with one-line instructions for answering, 2 sample questions, and a mini test in each unit, complete with answer circles which the student fills in with pencil. I like the book because I can give it to our 5th grader while i am occupied with my younger children and she can move through it without prompting or aiding by me. Very easy and fast for the parent/teacher to check, also, so there is quick feed-back time between teacher and student.

Very thin book, but my main concern is that the content is not appropriate for a 5th grader.

Good book. My 4 yr old loves it. Paper quality could have been better. But the content is amazing.

Good practice for Canadian grade 6!

大人の私でも十分にやりがいがあります。 しかも、このお値段。 コストパフォーマンスが非常に高い。 しかも、厚みもないのでいつまでも果てしなく終わりの見えないということもなく、 モチベーションが保てる間にやり終えることが出来ます。 知らない単語がたくさん出てくるので何度が見直しするときっと知らなかった単語も 自分のものにできるはず。

Very small book Not worthed

フォニックスや英文の書き方など一通り学習していて、自分で簡単な英文をめるようになってきているお子さんにはいいと思います。 イラスト合うように文字を完成させる問題。 イラストに合う単語を３つの中から選ぶ問題。 読み上げられた単語を選ぶ問題（親や先生が読む）。 英文の間違いを見つけて正す問題。 短いストーリー（５文〜）を読んで問いに答える問題。 イラストに合う英文を選ぶ問題。 などからできているテストです。答えは最後のページについています。 １ページごと、ミシン線が入っていて切り離せるようになっています。 本文は白黒なのでもっとカラーで子供が喜ぶような感じであればよかったと思いますが、 この値段にしたら充分な内容だと思います。 私が求めていたのが、フォニックスをやり始めた年長児向けのものを探していたので 星を３つにしてしまいましたが、レベルにあっていれば、値段も込みで５つ星です。
