Excellent quality and coverage for model building. I use this for model car dashboards and interiors to stimulate the look of real ones where appropriate. It gives a nice sheen over matte paints without looking plastic-y and is just shiny enough to look like a different finish.

If you’re doing this through an airbrush, add a drop or two of airbrush thinner to prevent the varnish caking up your airbrush nozzle. 1:3 Satin:Ultra Matte Varnish is a good mixture to protect your models while giving an ultra matte finish. One of the ways I’ve seen Satin varnish used is on capes. Good place to start if you wanna protect the paint on there. Airbrush is fine, but if you wanna be precise, paintbrush works too if you are unable to use plastic wrap or non-grease putty (blue tack) to protect your model from indirect airbrush spray.

This varnish worked great on a small painted shelf. I didnt need a whole can, so this was perfect.

Applies with an airbrush as expected.

The base is done with AK ultra matte varnish, the spear with Vallejo gloss, and the rest of the figure is finished with the satin varnish. All varnished by hand with a paintbrush.

Great, high quality varnish as one would expect from vallejo. I used through an airbrush straight from the bottle and got exactly the slight sheen I was hoping for. Will buy again!

Works just fine, and doesn't have the super-glassiness of the gloss varnish, but in my opinion it's still pretty shiny. I use it where I want a "gloss" look, to be honest. But that's not a complaint. I apply this with a brush, not thinned for an airbrush.

Tubito pequeño para trabajos de detalle, el barniz cumple perfectamente su función y su brillo es intermedio -satinado- tal y como se espera. Yo lo he utilizado para una pequeña reparación en una pared, que cubrí con una pintura mate y se notaba demasiado, ahora ha quedado más igualado a la pintura plástica original.
