Instant On 1830 8G 4p Class4 PoE 65W Switch (JL811A)

We have had another brand for a good with that is based on the West coast, a very well known brand. However, you have to pay for annual maintenance fees (or up to 5 years). If you do not renew, the services turn off and you're dead in the water till you renew. Looking at the cost of the renewals and have the devices for approx 10 years, I started looking around for some that was equivalent to our current working system and found these. I have used HP and Aruba switches for years for their warranties, but have not looked at their APs till now. WOW! These devices do the same thing that the others do, HOWEVER, there is NO annual fees! I replaced everything plus in the office for a whole lot less then what just the AP maintenance would run for the old one. Quick setup and works very well. Nice interface. Highly recommend.

Great for the price. Used several as edge of network switches. No CLI, but the GUI is fairly straightforward, with a few quirks. It has the best vlan management GUI I've seen yet. No issues to report after a year of use.

First off, I am an I.T professional as I own my own business and use a multitude of products. I once was a Ubiquiti fan for their WIFI devices, but a client issue with Mac/Windows environment pushed me to use something else. The end result was Aruba IO. The best part of these is they have built in filters for micro management of internet access. It will allow you to prevent access to websites you don't want your kids or employees accessing from a granular level. The switch prevents all access to these, but the WIFI does the same so you can be covered from all angles. Setup can be done in less than 10 minutes and is easy to manage & maintain. Do yourself a favor and use these. Have yet to have any of these devices fail

This is a wonderful solution to your networking needs. Highly recommended. The setup does require you to use the QR Code, but that's not a big deal. I had it up and running in a matter of minutes...

I like Aruba. Easy to configure / manage. Unfortunately this particular product let me down. I started acting up after 2 years. It’s the first power supply failure i had in a device like this. It started out similar to a firmware issue but it ended up being simple hardware failure.

This was cheaper than Newegg and is a high end high quality switch. Hopefully I’ll never need a new one, but this is wonderful, poe is great too!

I bought 3 of the 1830 POE switches and they have all needed replacement for port failures within less than 2 years. As for "Instant On", these things take fully 4 minutes to boot up, as opposed to a normal $50 switch that is available in a few seconds. If you are running cameras through this, you will have a 4 minute gap after any downtime, eg power fail or firmware update.

There doesn't seem to be a robust interface like i find with other switches, just the almost too bare mobile app. This can make setting up things like VLANs, DHCP, and QoS more difficult than it should be. There also seems to be an issue causing my devices to lose connection when running through this switch. The issue goes away when I bypass it. It's been frustrating enough I'll probably buy a different brand to replace it at some point
