I have been using this product for 5 years now. This is the only repellent that keeps the ruthless gnats away where I live in Georgia. I used to have a large 16 oz and two 4 oz bottles that I had purchased at the big C membership club store. I haven't seen it since. It works pretty well on the mosquitos around my house as well and I live near a few large bodies of water. It's worth it just for the gnats however!

Going organic all the way down to this bug repellent. Living in Florida seems mosquito season is all year round for me. I have tried all sorts of bug repellent from growing mosquito repellent plants, skin so soft, candles even dryer sheets. I have even made the diy mosquito traps. You name it I've tried it. None of them seems to work for me, not even bug zappers. I feel that there is an invisible sign letting them know that I am outside. I can be outside with friends or with just my husband when we're working in our garden. I can hear them buzzing around my ears then I end up slapping myself due to the bites. Which ends up having me go inside the house if I didn't want to get bitten anymore. Fourth of July was the worse! We went to a friends home for a gathering. Out of 30 people I was the only one that got attacked by these blood suckers. Even though the fireworks were awesome I was busy swatting and slapping myself after being bitten. My friends had sprayed and sprayed me with off but that did not work.I decided to try the Greenerways organic deet free bug repellent. I wish I had found out about it sooner. It is 100% organic and is made in the USA. The first thing you will notice is the smell. It's like you are wearing citronella candle and cedar mixed into one. It's woodsy and floral at the same time. I've used cedar chips for my dogs' bedding to keep fleas away but never thought about mixing the oil for myself.I was still hesitant about this bug repellent but was hoping for the best. After spraying myself down including the sleeves of my shirt and the bottom of my pants including applying it on my face, neck, and ears and hair I went outside like I normally do.I was able to work in my yard with no issue, I even got to see the sunset. I still did get some bites but not nearly as much as I had before.I have to say I am shocked that it works when every thing else did not. It did not prevent all bites but it was not as many.I am curious as to why this product has not been registered by the US EPA yet. When my daughter arrives I will also let her try it out since those blood suckers also like her. I would recommend this to those that are tired of giving blood freely to those nasty insects.

This product works pretty well when used liberally. I have been using those for years at Assateague Island where mosquitoes, horse flies, ticks and gnats are rampant. They are so bad there they get you through your clothes! When I use this product, they bother other people instead and I can pass through unscathed.That said, I used to buy this product as a set of three bottles for $22, but I didn’t realize they changed the listing to just one 4oz bottle for $21!!! That’s a ripoff even if it does work well. My review of product is 5 stars, docked one for updated pricing and confusing advertising that still shows three bottles and only mentions the change at the last part of the description.

The instructions say to apply every three hours. If I do that I’m getting bit bc that’s what happened. In my experience using this, you have to apply it every 15-30 minutes to keep the mosquitos away from you. The first day I used this I frequently sprayed and was not bit. The second day I applied as described and was bit several times. Because I needed to apply so much, I went through a bottle a day. It smells herbal but not in a good way. I’m glad it comes in a spray for easy application and it arrived quickly in time for my trip to a tropical area in Mexico. It’s unfortunately greasy, so all the dirt sticks to you. As long as it keeps the bugs away that’s why matters.

Overall, I am very happy with this bug spray. Growing up in the city, I never had to use bug spray before and it wasn’t until I met my husband who is from the mountains that I started to wear bug spray during certain seasons of the year. They get a TON of bugs up there. My sense of smell is strong that I do get sensitive very quick with strong, not so nice odors and it would keep me from wanting to go outside to avoid using any.First thing that caught my eye was that it says ORGANIC on the bottle. I have been growing more accustomed to organic products so I decided to give this a try as we will be taking a trip to Mexico in the next couple of weeks. You spray on the product and it comes out like a liquidy white cream. It feels very light on the skin and does not leave me looking oily or gross. There are three essential oils used in this product which include lemongrass, citronella and cedar wood. I have to admit when I first sprayed this the scent was sooooo strong that I started coughing. The scent is very nice but for some reason it came off very strong with just three sprays. After a couple of minutes the strength of the scent went away and I have to say I do love the scent.I went outside and was surprisingly impressed with the results. The mosquitoes and other bugs stayed away from me and I didn’t have to freak out hearing that scary buzzing right next to my ear. I was outside for an hour and nothing bothered me. I felt so good being outside and my skin did not get irritated with the spray (I have sensitive skin). I am impressed and as I said, very happy with the results. My husband and niece used it as well and they did not have a scent reaction as I did and they love it.
