Several strips of rough spun cotton, pieced together, as with traditional mud cloth. Color is vibrant and the panel is beautiful. I use it as a throw over an oversized chair in my office. It will graduate to a wall hanging once in-person client visits resume...for now, it's perfect where it is. Update: I purchased another, in the red/brick color. The pattern is beautiful.

Not to happy with the product for several reasons...
I was expecting 4 pieces only because the advertisement says (4 Color) and the picture show about 3-4 different throws. OK then I open it and it has a few holes in the material and the edges are frayed and not intact. I did catch a bit of an Oder but not alarming. Needless to say I had purchased to give out a Xmas gifts but shockingly received two in the package, so I just kept them, and I just recently opened the actual blanket to see it a few days ago. I'll have to find something to do with them since I missed the refund deadline I'm stuck with them, otherwise I would have sent them back.

Perfect color.
I'm very pleased with my purchase. The fabric is exactly the mud cloth I saw when I visited Ghana several years ago. The fabric is a perfect addition to my decor.
