Sytopia 28'' Heavy Duty Office Chair Base Replacement with Cross Metal Legs (2400 lbs), Universal Gas Cylinder & Caster Sockets, Matte Black

I bought this chair base to replace the manufacturer's original base. The OEM base was not suited to upgraded skate wheel installation, and was failing to allow the chair to roll freely. The original plastic wheel sockets would bend and cause the chair to lean. This base is perfect for the application. All metal construction, especially the receiver ports for the wheel posts. Solid construction, assembles in 5 minutes, and provides the stability I was looking for with the better wheels. It does not come with wheels at all, so you'll have to provide your own. The kit does include the hardware and hex key to assemble the base if you don't already have these tools.

I can count on one hand the number of reviews I've left, but I thought this item deserved mention. A couple of years ago, the welding of one of the wheel sockets on an executive office chair I had only purchased 6 months prior collapsed, rendering the chair not usable. After a couple of unsuccessful DIY attempts to repair the wheel housing, I resigned the chair to the unused guest room, upside down. Then I thought I'd search for a replacement piece so I could salvage a nice chair that currently didn't have a usable base. I came across this replacement base and honestly I think it's a great find. It's very cool looking (unlike the standard fake chrome base), and I can tell you the legs are very solid, very stylish. I think you've got a real winner in this area. I would absolutely recommend this and would absolutely buy again if I needed to replace the legs of an office chair.

I had problems moving my chair. Not due to the absence of a mat, or obstructed wheels. I was baffled until I realized that the plastic base that came with my chair (nice chair actually) was cracked. This allowed the cylinder to slowly descend beyond its natural position, eventually making contact with the floor. Baffling, because I thought either the wheels were jammed, or the cylinder was failing. Eventually, I noticed the contact and after closer inspection saw the crack. This replacement is made of metal; I don't see that issue happening again. There's some light assembly required - not difficult. And, positioning your chair's cylinder into the base is easy. Make sure you purchase the proper size opening for your cylinder. So far, works perfectly...and my pricey chair is usable again.

Had a great gaming/ office desk chair- however after 3 years the base cracked literally in 1/2. The manufacturer did make it any longer- thus no parts. This was a PERFECT fit. Assembled with the 4 bolts given... not only stronger- and a bit wider spread for more stability! Highly recommend- but definitely check measurement to assure correct fitment.

I have several "orthopedic" style supportive office chairs that I like a lot, and were pretty expensive when new, but they came with plastic (nylon I think) bases. Recently, I noticed that one of the casters on the one I use the most kept falling out, and I'd have to pop it back into the receptacle. Finally I flipped the chair over and discovered that all the caster stem holes were like the one in the picture. Not good. So I found this base on Amazon and liked that it was a 2" wider diameter (less chance of tipping) and it's rated for a ridiculous 2200Lbs weight capability (nothing like a little overkill!). I got one of the bases, assembled it with the included hex wrench in about 5 minutes. I liked it so much I bought two more to update the other two chairs I have. This is a lifetime "fix and forget" update. The fit and finish of the product is first rate, easy to assemble, doesn't flex under use, and looks to be bullet-proof. Perfect.

Exactly as advertised. My chair base that came with my chair broke. The original chair company sent me a cheap replacement. I ordered this instead. This base has good height and is very sturdy. No noise and rolls very well.

I am so glad that I bought this first instead of replacing my leather office chair! It is black and metal and super sturdy! The wheels allow my chair to glide easily on the hardwood floor and my oriental rug. My chair will outlive this base, but I will continue to use this base on the next chairs that I purchase. Super easy to assemble. The hardest part was removing the old base from my chair.

Once you get used to wider support of the legs. Works great more support on my saddle stool. I replaced the old one to this new base.

This is awesome. Very very strong. Larger than I expected (not in a negative way).
