Difficult to read due to small font. Publisher should reprint with larger font and darker black color. Grammatical explanation does meet MSA standards.

Even though some of the material is already available on the internet, you would have to search for hours in both languages and have many tabs open to compare the Arabic and the English, and still might not find the right meanings. This books simplifies all that for you and presents twenty songs. After the song, they have background and commentary, fully voweled vocab lists, and then language exercises.At the very end of the book are the English translations (great idea to have it here because otherwise I would cheat!), biographies of the singers/lyricists/musicians in Arabic, and then expended vocab list for all the troublesome Form 1 verbs (great idea!) There are links to Youtube but that's a bit frivolous because as you know, YouTube links come and go all the time and it's easier just to search them. I found the font to be beautiful and not too small, I've seen Arabic novels write much smaller than this (it's about the size of this Amazon text). Even though not a must-have, this seems like a really fun book.

I was looking forward to get this book. Everything went smoothly but what a deception I am not able to read the texts, just the titles. I do not understand why the American University of Cairo edited this book for Arabic language learners with such a small font. I am unable to read the text and do the exercices. Just the titles of the song are accessible, so I look on YouTube and Lyrics to find the text. What a pity, I didn't need to purchase a book for that.The content of the book should get 5 stars, the editing not more then 2 stars.

Sehr schwierig den arabischen Text zu entziffern. Zu klein wie öfters. Schade.Wann kommt eine Kindle Ausgabe?
