Beautiful
Gorgeous Bible, great size, very readable. The gold gilding was a little rubbed off on mine right out of the box but it doesn’t really bother me. It’s nice to have an ESV Catholic Edition because I was already familiar with the translation before I started learning more about the Catholic faith. This is my favorite readers Bible now.

It checks most of the boxes
One of the things I missed the most since converting to Catholicism was the lack of premium Bibles in really good translations. I just wanted one Bible, in a translation I really like, that will last me for several years. I purchased a leather NABRE Study Bible. It's nice, but I don't really care for the translation all that much. I looked at some of the RSV-CE Bibles out there. A better translation than NABRE, but nothing in the quality department that really wowed me. I really liked the Douay Rheims Baronius Press editions.A few weeks ago I randomly searched for "ESV Bibles with the Apocrypha" and was shocked to find that they exist. Then I saw that there were honest-to-goodness Catholic editions...with an imprimatur! The ESV is one of my favorite translations ever, so I HAVE to check that out. A quick YouTube search and a few video reviews later featuring this particular Bible, and I clicked "Add to cart".It checks most of the boxes for me.Soft leather cover - checkGood size - checkDecent-sized print - checkQuality construction - checkESV translation - checkCatholic Imprimatur - FINALLY!A few things I'd like to see, but aren't deal breakers, that could make a perfect "Reader's Bible" would be a single-column format, larger print, and possibly a slightly heavier paper weight. The ghosting isn't bad with the line matching, but it could be better. The added thickness from being larger print and heavier paper wouldn't bother me at all. It's already about the same footprint as the large Baronius Press Douay Rheims, just thinner. It's one of the nicest quality Catholic Bibles I've seen so far. Even if you're not Catholic and in the market for a really nice quality ESV this one might be worth checking out. I considered the Diadem edition for a while but preferred the deuterocanonical books and chapters in Septuigent order instead of just shoved in between the Old and New Testaments.

Great Presentation of a Great Catholic Translation
I have many different translation versions in my Bible Collection. I really like the English Standard Version Catholic Edition for its readability and translation choices (I love that it reads ‘And I shall dwell in the house of the Lord Forever’ for Psalm 23). The Cambridge Cornerstone Edition of this translation is the Cadillac of Catholic Bibles. I mean it is high quality. I didn’t realize that real leather would feel so good, but it does. If you are looking for an ESV-CE bible that will last and is a pleasure to read, then the Cambridge Cornerstone is the Bible to get.

Poor customer service from Cambridge
Received this Bible In January of the year. The binding is coming apart after only five months.Called Cambridge about the problem and was told they do not back this product because I did not buy it from them.It was surprising that a company that sells Bibles does not back them . So be cautious when you buy a Cambridge Bible.

Beautiful—Great job Cambridge!!!
Overall great readers edition—the clearest print I’ve seen for the ESV. We’ll planned aesthetically pleasing page layout, with adequate spacing on all sides for enjoyable reading (not crammed or covered with cross references). The Italian paper is nice (no ghosting) and print clear and black throughout. I also love the leather, great grain and texture, soft but not too thin with great smell. Lays flat when opened (reminds me of an RL Allan Binding). Great edition overall for reading and even fits in hand and carries nicely! Given the superb font and print, Cambridge should consider a smaller compact version?

Dissapointed
This Bible is disappointing, especially for the price. The pages in the book have a "crunchy" sound and feeling to them, similar to the sound of wet paper when it's dried and is then crumpled. The gilding also has a dirty look to it, not uniform. The words on the binding are already seeming to have worn off despite it having just arrived.

It's a magnificent "reader" Bible, but not a study or reference Bible
Yes, it's basically a simple and modern text-block (SPCK) with a great cover. It doesn't have any concordance, references, or citation of OT passages quoted in the NT. But, if you're looking for a high-quality readers' Bible in the ESV-CE, this is a great choice. The recently-published Schuyler ESV with Deuterocanonical/Apocrypha has some major printing errors in terms of text uniformity, so this Cambridge is currently the best option for a ESV with the Deuterocanonical books, unless you're ok with the smaller font size of the ESV Diadem (also from Cambridge, and of much higher quality than the Cornerstone.)4.2/5
