KHOMO - iPad Pro 10.5 Inch & iPad Air 3 2019 Charcoal Gray Color Case - Companion Cover - Perfect match for Apple Smart keyboard and Cover

I had to purchase a new iPad because my old one cracked. The conundrum with iPhones and iPads is their sensuous thin, glossy profile is better suited to a museum than a briefcase. Slick as a wet bar of soap and easily fractured. So, you end up swaddling your $1,000 phone/tablet in something protective.The durability of the glass is astonishing, to be fair. But you can't use it without some protection. So you're faced with a trade-off between durability and aesthetics.For me, Khomo came up with as good a compromise between bulk and protection as I could want. It slips snuggly over the iPad, protecting the corners and providing a comfortable back that isn't slick. I find the Stone color a perfect match for the rose gold. And it's nice that the gold glitters through in a few crannies. It reminds me what I bought and offers access to the buttons, speakers and plug.It does not protect the glass from dropped objects. If that is your concern, look elsewhere.Nor is it watertight. That requires an even heavier case.But for an elegant solutions that preserves a vestige of the lovely profile of the original this Khomo case is worth considering. I would buy it again.

This is a perfect fit!!! Slim, and light weightBecause Apple chose not to offer a full "Smart Cover" case with front and back protection, I had to seek out and make my own protection for both while maintaining a slim and light weight feel. Well this product does that and does it perfectly. I purchased a black leather Smart Cover, for front protection, and added this KHOMO to cover the back and they fit and look perfectly together. The KHOMO cover is very very light and slim, the cut outs are perfect and the material is hard but has a rubbery like feel but is very smooth. The smart cover works perfectly with it and when wrapped to the back it sticks to the KHOMO cover with the smart cover magnet. This is the best back cover I've tried, and it looks and feels of high quality

It is difficult to discern just how thin these protectors are when looking at images online.The iPad itself is very thin. This companion case molds to the slim designof the iPad very well.The corner design is a bit rough, dust can get trapped in there.Feels like a thin rubberized coat on outside of cover. Feels and textyre are like and official Apple smart cover.This will not offer absolute drop protection but is better than nothing and the cutout makes it one of the best inexpensive and good looking options for those that want a companion case to go along with the Ipad.Inside of case is not a soft velvet material. It is kind of hard and may leave surface scratches on the edges over time if you are constantly removing the iPad out of the companion cover.4 star overall even though its thin, drop protection is a roll of the dice, and inside of the companion case is not a soft touch material.

This was a good product for me. Thin, relatively hard plastic that snapped onto my iPad Pro 10.5 inch and hugged the corners nicely. Made the iPad slightly more grippy than the slick aluminum back. Protected from scratches, the lip kept the screen protected when it was face down on a flat surface. The thickness of the case just barely exceeded the protrusion of the back camera lens, so that was also protected a little bit when laying flat on the back. This case doesn't have big bumpers or thick walls to protect against long drops onto concrete. It's meant to shield the iPad against the occasional bump or when you toss it on your bed and it slides to the floor. Ports and speaker openings all fully accessible. I used this with both an Apple Smart Keyboard using the Smart Connector, and later (when the keyboard died -- I don't recommend these expensive and fragile Apple keyboards for regular use) an Apple Smart Cover which also attaches magnetically. The design of the case works almost perfectly with both of these -- one caveat is that with the Smart Cover, the lip of the case prevents your fingers from easily pulling open the cover to use the iPad -- without the case, the cover sticks out just a smidgen so your fingers can just lift the cover off the screen. With the case on, I generally have to lift the cover right where there is a gap in the lip where the Lightning port sits. A slight inconvenience when you're in a hurry.The other downside to this case is that it did crack in one corner (near the camera, see the photo) after about two and a half years. It was still usable -- the case stayed securely on the iPad and generally protected it -- but you could feel and see that there was a crack. Eventually this annoyed me enough to buy a second one -- at about twelve dollars, I think 2.5 years is pretty good in terms of endurance.I've had one other Khomo product in the past -- a soft case for a Kindle Fire tablet. It was also well made, so I generally have a good impression of their quality control and design.All in all, a good deal if you are looking for lightweight (and light) protection and you use an accessory that requires access to the Smart Connector. It may not last forever, but it's inexpensive and the tolerances (fit) are very good.

It is a nice slim case, and fits perfectly with the smart keyboard. It’s a hard plastic and feels nice in hand (non-slippery matte finish), however, i wish it was more of a silicon finish like the original Apple cases. It is slim so not too sure how much drop protection it will actually provide (I’m careful with my gadgets so I’m not too worry about that). I ended up returning it only because i decided the red was a bit bolder than i wanted, and bought the stone color.
