Solved the problem easily. Beats putting out the money on a new washer. There are numerous complaints about it being shorter than the original. Yes, it is. However, I believe they designed the replacement part to fit differently to help prevent the problem that is causing the need for the repair. When you take it apart you will see that the wire is bent back on itself to go around the locking mechanism and to the front right of the machine. With the shorter wire, you will see that it sits perfectly running it to the left. This also stops that bend in the wire. I had no issues the wire reached just fine and worked without any issues. Just an FYI I am not an appliance repairer. This was my first time opening the top of a washer. Try it, what do you have to lose? A little bit of time and you get the chance to save yourself a few hundred dollars.

Part and connection looks the same, but the wire is not long enough to reach. Will be returning.

I went on Sears Parts Direct website and entered my washing machines model number which in turn gave me the part number which I ordered. Upon installation I found that the wiring was approximately 10” to short. The original part had 3 reinforced sections where the replacement part had only 2. Upon purchasing another replacement part from an appliance repair shop I found the part number was correct, the wiring was just too short.

I purchased this because it was listed as a direct replacement for my washer lid lock latch (W11188327). However, when installing it, I found out that it was too short. Held side by side, this new replacement was about six inches shorter than the original. I did get it to work, but only by running the wiring in a sketchy way.My washer was getting an err F5 code, indicating a faulty lid lock latch. This part did solve the problem. This lid lock comes with a plastic piece screwed onto the lock which no doubt works as is with certain models, but I had to unscrew it to make it fit on my model. Once the extra plastic part was removed with two screws (which are also the mounting screws) it fit perfect. After having to keep starting my machine over and over to get it to wash, which eventually stopped working altogether, this was a relief. It works without issue now, so all's well, unless that rigged wiring route creates a future issue.My model: Kenmore Elite Washing Machine MOD 110.31632611 / Door Latch Part #: W11188327

I needed a washer lock kit and I thought I knew what I needed. After ordering I got an email from seller double checking the part. I told them I was pretty sure it was the right part. They told me to try and if it didn’t work they would refund without sending it back. It worked and all is good. Thanks to the sellers

Works and fits perfectly. Probably easier for someone who knows how to do things like this, but it only took me a few hours. I have zero experience fixing anything. Get it. Follow YouTube videos. Have tiny hands around to help plug it in. :)

Replaced in a Maytag MVWB955FW, this harness is at least 5 to 6” short. Was able to route to make it work but it’s not a direct fit, would not buy again and will order a genuine replacement so the routing will be correct.
