The scotch brite that I have does not have a button in the back to release the dish soap, it release automatically as I'm scrubbing. Will this fit?

Yes. It releases plenty of soap.

Is this product really as good as advertised?

I cut the pads in half and use those but I do use the wand occasionally and am glad I have it when I'm cleaning a hot pan.
