These are used on PVC piping and work quite well and are long lasting. They are made to cut metal. I use them extensively.

This is your real solution to abrasive cut off wheels. I recently put cbn wheels on a bench grinder and omg they cut so much better. Not cheap, i think more exp that diamond tools. But they cut metal far better than diamonds. The only thing that compares to cbn, is 3m cubitron3. Those are also FN exp for grinding wheels. Just dont drop your tool with this wheel since its so exp. This has made my rotary tool my goto for small metal cutting. Before id try to use my 3in cutoff or a grinder.

When even the small 3-inch angle grinder is too big and a mini hacksaw won't get the job done it's time for the Dremel to come from its case to accomplish the cutting task. The EX506HP 1.5-inch metal cutting wheel, although a little pricey, cuts through most metals with ease. When other power tools are too large to get into that tight space this cutting disk does what's needed. Thick enough to keep its shape while thin enough for precise cutting. If you own a Dremel 4000 Series rotary tool this is one cutting wheel to keep on hand. This cutting disc works very well in areas where a regular 4 inch angle grinder cannot do the cutting.

I just used this to make 3 cuts through probably 3/8" or 1/2" solid stainless steal bars (resizing grates on my grill). I am not sure I can determine any wear on the wheel at all after this (other than rubbing on the face which is from my own lack of steady hands). Each bar took probably 5 minutes to cut, which is impressive, but I'm pretty sure with a standard cutting wheel I would have used an entire wheel on each cut, with the wheel wearing down to the point of uselessness pretty quickly. Very happy with this purchase. I was a little concerned because the cost is a lot more than most dremel attachments, but it was absolutely worthwhile.

Invaluable to have the right tool for the job. I use knock off dremel tools for MOST things, but NEVER my cut off wheels! Ive never had a Dremel brand explode on me... (unlike the knock offs) BE AWARE that knock offs can sneak into Amazon's inventory and accidentally be sold as this official product.
