Best Vegetable Peeler Ever!
I saw a video posting on the internet about an English gentleman selling these on a street-corner in NYC. The video was more about him and his technique than about the utensil, but he certainly knew how to sell his product. It looked so simple in design and ease of use that I thought I would try it. We have had many peelers over the years and they are OK, but not like this one. In addition to ease of use, it works if you are right handed or left handed (my mother-in-law is left handed and has a hard time finding things that work well). All in all, this peeler works like magic, simple, quick, and marvelously efficient!

The Star Vegetable Peeler gets the job done.
The Star Vegetable Peeler gets the job done. It peels smoothly and is easy to use, but it does feel a little bit cheap. The handle is lightweight, and I’m not sure how long it will last, but for the price, it works fine. If you just need a basic peeler, this one does the trick.

This is it
I had bought an inexpensive peeler in the UK many years ago which was still sharp and a fantastic peeler when I “retired” it because it was looking a little worn. I replaced it with two others a couple of months ago which looked similar but were nowhere close to the cutting or comfort standard. One kept catching and tearing at the apple skin and the other you had to hold in a weird way and it still didn’t work as well. Then I got the Star peeler and as soon as I peeled an apple it felt and worked just like the one I got in the UK. I then tried it with a butternut squash. Went through it like… er.. butter. And that’s a tough skin. If this lasts half as long as the other one did that would be great since I do a lot of peeling.

The simplest and most useful peeler you can own.
This peeler is sharp, and has been the best peeler I have ever used. I have a drawer full of KitchenAid, and many other famous brand peelers, none have worked as well as this one. It also very wide, and that makes it useful for all types of peeling. When I make a salad, I peel a carrot, then lay it on the cutting board and use this peeler to cut thin steps of carrot, then I stack the carrot and cut it to salad size with a knife. I peeled cartots, potatoes, and egg plant with this peeler, all were the easiest time I had in peeling vegetables.

This is it...your last peeler.
Yes, this is the one!! I have had numerous peelers over the years and this one tops them all. It is very close in design to an antique peeler my mother had when I was growing up. This has a longer more comfortable handle and sports a much safer loop for an eye remover than the small curved knife of my mom's version. The blade is perfection in its precision sharpness. I have watched several videos of Joe Ades sitting low on the street hawking these amazing tools.

Really disappointed with this peeler
I couldn't be more disappointed in this peeler, but considering the price, at least I didn't spend a lot of money to find it that this peeler is not good at all. I've had it less than a year, and I could have posted this negative review less than 2 months after I bought it because I was already experiencing the disappointing results back then. I'm just really lazy when it comes to writing timely reviews.First, as other reviewers have pointed out, the blade itself is NOT stainless steel. The performance of the blade is no better or worse than whatever you have in your kitchen drawer right now. I would go so far as to say that the blade is a little on the dull side and it performs worse then my other peeler that I bought at the 99 cent store.Second, it rusts. A lot. Check out the pics I posted. No further description necessary.I cant remember if I've never been more disappointed with a purchase on Amazon than I have been with this peeler. And I've bought a lot of stuff. My recommendation: move on and do not buy this peeler.
