This 100% will work as a replacement for an older Whirlpool fridge’s evaporator fan. But, be sure to keep your old fan’s hardware so you can reuse them. The brackets that come with this were too short for my fridge. But I was able to retrofit the old bracket and make it work. My old fan had both terminals on one side. So the white wire would not reach this fan since the negative terminal is on the opposite end. But you can easily cut the wire and extend it with a couple wing nuts. I used an old iPhone charging cable wire and it worked as an extension. An electrical wire cutter would come in very handy. Also, the red blade is too large. So use your old blade as a template and trim the new blade to the proper radius. Scissors will do the trick. So yes, took some work but well worth the investment.

Perfect match and quality

So far so good. Product arrived quickly. While it is not advertised as compatible for my specific Whirlpool evaporator motor (p/n 2200546), when questioned, the seller said "it fit s Whirlpool refrigerators", so I bought it. Product looks more like the 2200546 than what I received from a seller who specifically advertised a direct replacement for the 2200546. Took of a star because: 1. I had to use my old brackets as the brackets supplied with this one were not long enough. 2. As others noted, the terminals are opposing sides of the transformer, requiring that one of the fridge's wires be lengthened to reach the terminal. 3. The fan diameter was larger than the 2200546 fan and as the shafts are different diameters, too, the old fan blade could not be used. I had to trim about 1/8in off the fan blades. I worry this could result in an unbalanced fan and drastically shorten the working life of this motor.

I purchased this evaporator fan due to 2 day shipping, as I have no other refrigerator. The product I received did not work; I checked the electrical continuity using a multimeter and this fan must have a bad winding in the motor. Now I get to wait another 2 days for another fan to show up, with no fridge. Save the aggravation and buy something else for another $20.

Should have bought this sooner. Fixed the refrigerator fan problem and it runs quiet. Installed in 20min no problems.

The fan motor and assembly was a perfect match but it required a bit of disassembly and reassembly to realign the motor. The packaging was extremely damaged and it was evident the shaft of the motor had penetrated the box throwing it out of alignment. The outer bag was torn in multiple places from the metal components and the interior box was almost non existent. The motor shaft would not spin until it was realigned. Once installed it worked like a champ and super quiet.

Works well on the old fridge at cottage

Was not an exact fit due to age of refrigerator but with a few modifications it worked fine.

Note the positions of the connectors. I received a unit which has the power and neutral on opposite sides. I had to make an extension for the cable so it can reach the other side of the motor. The one I received does not look like the one shown.

Item was poorly packaged. One of the wire was broken. I soldered back on and installed the motor, but the motor didn’t work anyway.
