Detroit Axle - Front Outer Tie Rods for 2007-2014 Ford Edge

As with most Detroit Axle parts these tie rods appear to be of quality build and the price is certainly right. However they are about 3/16” (5mm) shorter than the one’s I had previously installed. So the replacement method of counting the turns to remove the old one so that the new one can be installed the same doesn’t work so you’ll need to determine another method of measurement if you’re not planning on having a front end alignment performed. Note that the one’s I had previously installed were replaced some years ago when the entire front end was rebuilt and a front end alignment was performed so it is possible at that time shorter ones than the OEM one’s were installed.

Decent part, grease fitting, no new jam nut. We shall see how long it lasts

I finally got around to installing these on my Ford Edge 2013 SEL. What attracted me to these other than the price was the port (and its fitting) for grease. That by itself sold me on this. The mechanic told me the cost of the left (only) for the outer tie rod would be over $200! So these tie rods are a faction of that price if you're willing to put in the elbow grease. I would recommend watching videos on your vehicle to see the best way to approach replacing the tie rods. Penetrating spray is a must and I have an electric impact that helped a lot, but honestly you can do it without the impact. When I finally removed the old tie rod, these new ones were just as high of quality as the old ones. Putting in the grease fitting takes a 7mm. Also came with the cotter pins which are essential to keep the top nut on. I was surprised there weren't any supplied jam nuts, but honestly you can reuse the old ones. Given the chance, I would buy these all over again. Inexpensive but well made. No more clunks going around corners! And greaseable, that is super important to me.

The tie rod ends arrived quickly and were packaged well! The FedEx driver that delivered them somehow missed the incredibly obvious door on the front of our house and decided to hide them amongst the furniture of our tiny blocked off side porch, knocking over our gate as they tried to reeeeeally reach over and chuck it into the middle of the cushions. Thankfully, we've dealt with delivery drivers that enjoy turning a delivery into a surprise inconvenient treasure hunt, so it only took about 5 minutes of excavating and searching. You'll get a good product, you may just need to deal with FedEx being goofy. So far these definitely seems worth the added hassle, if the part itself sucks then my review will get an edit!

Fit my 2008 gmc sierra 1500

Parts arrived on time . Fit as they should. Should include a washer as nut contacts aluminum knuckle . OEM nut is a self locking style with a washer.

Exact size chage out. Priced right. Will see how they last

One was ok the other one has no threads inside. I waited to long to install these and now I can't return them.. This isn't the first time I got sub par parts from this company but it will be the last.
