Chicken Handbook, The: A Practical Guide to Keeping Hens and Other Fine-Feathered Friends

Pretty good book for an overview when considering backyard chickens. It is interesting, well written, and I have used it as a reference several times. I am not familiar with other books of this type to compare it, but I bought it as it was recommended and had good reviews. I have since had to go online to find information that this is lacking, so while not an exhaustive encyclopedia on chickens, it is a good read and would make a good purchase or gift to someone wanting to learn more about back yard chickens. Everything from history, breeds, diseases, to recipes is in it! Great read for the price, I highly recommend it!

Can't say enough about this book. Full of great information from someone who clearly knows their stuff. I was recommended this book by a friend who raises chickens. So glad I took his advice.
