The Best Piece of Exercise Equipment We Bought
We were skeptical about this piece of equipment. But after reading some reviews, we decided to take the plunge. So glad we did. We are more than pleased with this piece of equipment. Especially since as former marathoners and now old-timers, this machine really helps use re-gain the mobility and flexibility we lost over the years. We love that we can both use the machine without changing any attributes, since it's water resistance based. What we also love is the aesthetics -- the natural wood really lends to a focus furniture piece rather than a typical exercise machine.Hubby is a double hip replacement subject so this machine really has done wonders for his mobility. He's not walking around like a zombie and has been touting it's virtues. Granted, he has'nt been able to go more than 5 min. on the machine yet, but so far it's been the best for aerobic exercise. The assembly was a bit of a challenge. More so since hubby is more illustration driven than written instruction driven. But the two of us managed to construct an awesome piece of equipment with the help of a rubber mallet (we had issues with the placement of the foot rest.)The S4 monitor that comes with the unit does a decent job of tracking your stats. But if you are looking for a challenge, you probably need to subscribe to a service. Granted, I loved the stats that the waterpower provides, but we'll probably need to subscribe to a service to get the most out of the machine. If you're looking for a functional, yet aesthetic rower/exercise machine, the Waterrower in my opinion is the best option out there.

Nice machine but some glitches
The bolts at the ends of the rails are in pairs but do not easily align, patience is needed and I suggest you do not thread the bolts into the nuts very far to allow as much play as possible. The S4 Monitor gave me fits. It gave instructions that seemed simple but while I could set the duration or interval, once I started rowing nothing was recorded, all stayed at flashing zeroes. There were two suggestions in the manual that I tried with no success. I went to the manufacturer site which added a third suggestion which was a lead might be loose in the wiring harness, that was the problem. I had to get at it and took apart the clutch and pully assembly, this came preassembled, fully seated the lead and put everything back together. It worked great after assembly.

Cracked water tank after third use
Want to love the product… The unit seems amazing and provides a great workout. However, the tub cracked after the third use- discovered this after finding a large puddle on my engineered wood floor.

Received today.
After the initial shipping SNAFU where I received 1 package (the other one was held up a day, though it was a FedEx issue rather than any problem with Gronk or Amazon), I received my new WaterRower today. Assembly was straightforward and as-advertised. The rower looks good, works well...although I'm too wiped out from assembling the thing to have done more than a few minutes on it as a test-run. Overall, very satisfied. Additional note: the 1st package arrived on a Saturday. Amazon referred me to the seller. Despite being the weekend, they were super-quick with replying to my query and handling my issue.

Easy to set up, easy to use!
This WaterRower is aesthetically pleasing visually, beautifully crafted, and comfortable to use. The brand, WaterRower, is made in the U.S.A., not China, like some of the others out on the market. It is made of SOLID WOOD, not particle board like the knock-off brands. My family and I will get years of exercise enjoyment from this machine. The seat runs smoothly and quietly along the track, and the sound of the water moving with the resistance paddles are calming. My son doesn't like noisy machines, and he also loves using this.Don't try to use this with bare feet, though: the plastic foot pads aren't comfy with bare feet. I've worn sneakers and thin house slippers, and both are comfortable. I highly recommend this product, and I'm glad we purchased this brand.

Almost perfect
The rower is great, really nice to use, and great exercise. Unfortunately the left track came damaged, a small dent as can be seen in the photos.

Lame to maintain
I bought mine on amazon, but they have changed the product page so it doesn't show up.I used this for about ten years before the water tank burst. In that time I replaced numerous parts on this machine. The seat's rollers are very fragile. The bungee cord that holds the whole thing in action will stretch and need replacement. The water tank is much more expensive to replace now. The glue you reseal it with is ten times as much on the waterrower website than it used to be.Also, the support on the website is nonexistent.Don't buy this product. Look it up on discussion threads. They break. They are too expensive to maintain. The company changed strategy a few years ago and is no longer helpful in keeping these maintained, and want you to pay for very expensive water tanks instead of repair kids.the concept 2 competitor needs no such repairs, and doesn't spray water 15 feet across the room when the seal fails (and they all will fail eventually). This product is much prettier, and uses less floor space when standing, but it also has a much shorter range of motion. Now that I upgraded to a concept 2, I see the app environment for the concept two is awesome and free, while everything for the water rower cost a ton of money. This machine is really cool when it works.
