Full access to all features with no App and no account required.
You get full access to all features with no App and no account required. Apps and Accounts are available, if that is your thing. It isn't my thing, so I m very happy that this device works without ever having jump through hoops or connect it to a computer outside of my control to work.Home Assistant has an Ecowitt iteration built in that works once you enter the correct URL and port number. Home Assistant told me to use port 8124, when port 8123 was the port number that made it work. Port 8123 is the same port number that I used in my web browser to connect to Home Assistant.I told this device to upload data to Weather Underground. This was also easy to set up and just started working with out any drama.I love that this thing has no moving parts. It seems that the Temperature accuracy seems to be better than what I would expect on a device of this class. Humidity, Solar Radiation, UV Index, and Atmospheric pressure are as accurate as you would expect in a device of this class.Between the Ultrasonic Wind sensor and the piezo rain fall sensor, this weather station has no moving parts. This is amazing because I live in a dusty part of the works, and dust screws up moving parts. Reports are that the bucket style gauges are more accurate that the piezo style. It seems that both styles have strengths and weaknesses. To me, consistency is more important to me than accuracy. Time will tell if the solid state nature of the peizo rain sensor is worth the loss in accuracy.Another cool thing is that the outside unit is solar powered with a battery backup. There is an internal capacitor that charges to about 5.6 volts during the day. This powers the outside unit all night long. This voltage is monitored. You can monitor this voltage slowly drop about a volt before the sun comes up to charge it again. Two AA Batteries will take over and power the unit if needed. Solar power is way more then enough to power my unit. For the price, this product is a winner.

Not your traditional weather station, but much better!
After many years of using “traditional” weather stations, I thought I’d give this one a try. All the others used the standard spinning cups for wind, and basin for water collection for rain. They were always inaccurate. We get little rain, but sometimes huge winds out in Wyoming. The Wittboy was very accurate with both! After a recent storm, my old gauge showed very little rain, while the Wittboy was almost exactly matching what the National Weather Bureau said came down in my area. It’s easy to install and setup. Another key feature is the app and integration. The app is simple to use and detailed. I have the Wittboy integrated into my Home Assistant environment, and can use the data for controlling heat or fans in our chicken coop, and other things. The price is reasonable considering the great quality. Last, since there are no moving parts, the durability should be good too!

I love this thing
I'm a weather geek and that's what made me purchase this in early September. It's now October 30 and I'm loving it. I have it mounted on top of my TV antenna about 7 feet above the roof. It's great for measuring wind but I have to be honest, I'm not sure on the rain yet because we just haven't gotten much. :-( The remote sensors are easy to add and I've done a number of things with them. The best is I put one in the duct work of my furnace. I can see exactly when the furnace runs and how much heat it's generating. You'd be surprised at seeing the impact of setting the temp back. I can also see, by comparing the sensors, that my whole house humidifier is working. I used another in my camper this fall to alert me when the temp fell below 35 so I could turn it's furnace on to prevent freezing. All fun and good stuff

Great product… terrible setup instructions.
I do not know who wrote the instructions for this product but they are WORTHLESS!It took days going back and forth via emails with their tech support to get it setup.HOWEVER, now that is set up we love it and have verified the temp & rain gauges and they are dead on.
