if i remove the second hand from this clock, will the clock still work/tell time?

I'm pretty sure that the second hand is not necessary for the clock to run. What is necessary are the gears and motor inside the clock. As long as you carefully pull off the second hand and don't touch anything else, the clock should work just fine. The motor will run the same with or without the second hand.

Does the snooze/light button make a click sound when pressed, or is it silent?

Makes a click sound, but there is no light. The whole point of buying the clock was to see the time without turning on a lamp at night, so this product was a waste of money for me.

On the back it says Carbon Zinc batteries are recommended or maybe it said required the video was to quick to see clearly, last long?

Older style zinc carbon batteries are suited to this type of purpose- a low drain clock mechanism. They are relatively inexpensive compared to alkaline types BUT they do not last as long and they have a tendency to leak when discharged. Alkaline AA can be used in this clock and will last much longer-they are more costly however. Alkaline types tend not to leak when discharged.

Does the backlight stay on only when button pressed?
