Sentry Ratchet Kayak and Canoe Bow and Stern Tie Downs

I am not using this for it's intended purpose of securing kayaks, but will use it to secure a projector screen frame I made to use outside. For the purpose of hanging this frame, this ratchet set is perfect. I can make the rope as tight or loose as I would like and the hooks give me many options of securing it to something. In all honesty, I was not expecting this set to be as sturdy as it is. The quality is top-notch, with the actual ratchet making a very secure-sounding click as you tighten the rope. With the push of a button, tension is released. I can think of a million uses for this little set, from a clothesline to a sporting situation, it is a great gadget to have around a house or boat. Great design, functionality and price!

6 Month Update: I have used these tie down 2 dozen times in the past 6 months and they have performed flawlessly. I use them on bow and stern of my kayak. It is loaded on a full size truck with bed rack. I bought a pair based on other reviews and I have not been disappointed. I have used them 10-12 times to secure my kayak to the top of my truck. It makes securing the boat so much easier. When tightening the rope be careful not to pull too hard. You could damage your boat if not careful. I drove 45 miles in heavy rain at highway speed using these bow/stern lines and they maintained their tension for the whole trip. The convenience the Sentry Ratchet Tie Downs offer is hard to beat at this price.

I ordered a set of four of these in 2017. I don't think I ever ended up using them for the kayak stowage function they are advertised for, but I did use them for camping. They are FREAKING AWESOME for making a "taut line" to for above your hammock (or rain fly, net, etc.) or guy lines for a tarp, rain fly or other such purposes. They are so awesome that I just ordered 8 more, which arrived yesterday. Highly recommended for this purpose. Way faster and easier than messing around with other hardware for making taut lines (figure 9s, etc.). They ARE bulky - so great for car camping, but less so for motorcycle camping or backpacking. In those instances, I would still bring one, for my "main line" though. They're just so easy and fast to use! In my attached photo, this product us keeping the line between my tent and the tree to the far left tight.

Great product. The ratchets really hold well. The only reason for a 4 star not 5 review is the ropes are to short for a Full size suv (Suburban) and a 13 foot Kayak. They do not reach on the front of the car. I had to hook them under the hood, but at 80+ mph on a 600+ mile trip, no issues at all. Make the ropes longer and its a 5 star product. On a smaller vehicle where the length works, its a 5 star product.. I will be buying a second set for other uses...

They work great on my dual bunk Malone trailer! Easy connect and easy pull to tighten. Perfect solution.

Been using these for ten years on my boat for the canopy. Allows for quick adjustment to be able to tighten or loosen for quick storage. Highly recommend!!

These were an add on item when I purchased kayak racks and I'm so glad I got them! Good quality rope and the hooks and ratchet are super easy and smooth. This is going to work way better for tying down kayaks, canoe, etc ...without the clunky ratchet straps we used to use for the ends to the trunk and hood of vehicle. Recommend these for anyone who needs to tie down kayaks, canoe, etc...to a bumper or with special tie down accessories.

These work perfectly as bow lines for carrying my kayaks on top of my SUV in J Cradles. Very easy and obvious how to use them. No instructions needed. I use them with the Kapmoz Quick Hood Loops I also purchased on Amazon. I'm going to buy another set for stern lines.

I love these for the stem and stern of the kayak. So easy to both attach, tighten , and release, when putting the kayak on the roof of my car.
