I’d happily leave a 6, or 7 star review!!
This book is just perfect. The plot is awesome. There’s a whole lot of darkness but a lot of humor too. A LOT of spice, but also some romance. The absurdity of some situations got me laughing out loud; the tension of others, had me pausing it for a bit. Can’t wait to start book 2.PS: please, please check those TWs!!

great short read
I give this a 4.5! I really loved it and enjoyed the characters and the story of Enosh and his denial of his duties. I’m guessing after you die you turn into some sort of zombie on the full moon. It got a little slow towards the middle but the end had me hanging onto my seat. Can’t wait to read part two.

interesting
Little bit of Stockholm syndrome in this book, or a lot of it. Lots of spice, and non-consensual activities. Check your trigger warning. Aside from that, plot is interesting

The kind of dark, macabre romantasy I've been looking for
My goodness this was a phenomenal, beautiful read! The way Liv writes this book is so beautifully poetic and I found myself often lost in the cadence the narration provided from both POVs. This is a super dark fantasy romance with many uncomfortable topics that may not be suitable for all audiences. PLEAE BE SURE TO HEED TRIGGER WARNINGS! I would say this is more black than morally grey.Enosh, one of the most tortured souls I've read to date, is both, magnificent and monstrous throughout this story. I found it easy to both hate and love him particularly when I wanted to know more about him and his history and why/how he became who he is now. What drove him to do the things he does and why did he forsake his duty as a god? Each page turned had me needing more and I could not put this book down. Enosh is wickedly possessive, frighteningly dominating, and incredibly dark in all the right and wrong ways. He is almost immediately taken by Ada and we are put on a wild ride of push and pull dynamics between the two of these characters. 🥵🥵🥵 Enosh takes what he wants, when he wants and how he wants and he really does not care (particularly in the beginning) how anyone else feels. We are first introduced to Ada, a widowed midwife who had been forsaken by her people for being unable to give her late husband children. The world she lives in is one surrounded by death and wandering corpses due to a curse created by the King of Flesh and Bone. Due to a misfortunate event involving a wayward mule ends up dragging her into the Pale Court at the feet of the King of Flesh and Bone himself. She finds herself his captive and spends much of this book plotting the best way to escape her eternal binds to him. Will she ever come to love such a monster? Will she survive the traumatic things that happen to her while she services the King of Flesh and Bone in the Pale Court? This book ends on a wicked cliff hanger so be ready to pick up Queen of Rot and Pain immediately after!✨What to expect + some triggers:✨💀Dark Romance💀Lots of unaliving💀N0n/Dub C0n💀Obsessed/Possessive MMC💀Alpha-hole💀Beautiful writing and worldbuilding💀Lots of dirty talk 🥵💀Br$$ding💀N$crophilia (I'd definitely classify some content as this)💀Praise Kink (cause we all like a good girl😉)💀Spanking✋🏼💥💀Touch her and 💀💀CLIFFHANGER⚠️Some Triggers to be aware of (may contain spoilers):⚠️⚠️N$crophilia⚠️Stillbirth/Infertility⚠️Abuse (MMC breaks FMC's legs to prevent her from running)⚠️Killing of pregnant woman⚠️Loss of child⚠️Mis0gyny⚠️Forced su1c1de⚠️SA⚠️Widowed FMC⚠️Lots of 🩸 and 💀

Unique Fantasy plotline with great steamy, dubious consent!
I finished reading 'King of Flesh and Bone' by Liv Zander (I am just a regular reader, not affiliated with the author, reading is JUST hobby, and I am not in the biz!)I really enjoyed this and wish I had book 2 right now! Here's a list of key points that you might enjoy (to help decide if it is for you!)☠️ Romance Fantasy (takes place in an entirely different world with humans and different realms!)☠️ F/M (not RH that I know of! There is potential for FMMM, but I don't think so!)☠️ Enemies-to-Lovers☠️ Modern writing that has some flourish☠️ Two POVs in the 1st person: FMC and MMC☠️ Starts off with a widowed (in her 20's) FMC who is a midwife and is duty bound to "hold down" the grave of her husband to keep his corpse from seeking out the King of Flesh & Blood!☠️ Has sort of a Puritan vibe (like women are expected to serve their husbands & accept punishment from them, that kind of thing!)☠️ It's Dark in the context that there are corpses (sort of like white walkers!,) but it's not Dark in the way of r@pe, blood pl@y, violence, or torture (very minimal torture)☠️ It has DUBIOUS CONSENT, which is where the Dark themes circle (for me!) ... I loved it... but, dubious consent (in books ONLY) is 🔥 to me!☠️ MMC is HOT 🥵! He's controlling, possessive, demanding, and expectant! He also has lots of dirty talk 🌶🌶🌶☠️ Definitely spicy! 🍆🔥🌶☠️ One of the themes is around babies (I'm not typically a fan of baby themed books, but this is done in a way that I liked)☠️ Great ending... I want book 2!☠️ No HEA in this book as the series continues☠️ It's on Amazon's bestsellers list for Romance Fantasy (#70) and Gothic Romance (#32) & also has 100+ ratings with close to 5 Stars (at time I wrote this!)☠️ Book 1 of a two books (Book 2 will be released June 23)☠️ FREE ON KU!☠️ Newbie author with small FB group (Liv's Den of Darkness)☠️ Fans of Quinn Blackbird books will most likely love this!

Dark and twisted!
This was a morbid and dark and twisted kind of book so if your into that sort of thing then this read is for you.. but be warned it is dark.. Stockholm Syndrome at its finest puts beauty in the beast to shame..The first half I was like wtf am I reading and then it got better and better and then then it got so much worse.. but in the end I did finish it and I did enjoy reading it and it left me wanting more and curious to find out what's going to happen next.. so yeah idk 🤷🏻♀️
