Love love love!
Iโm a big hyram fan and after I found out dear clairs and other Korean chemical sunscreen might not be as effective as claimed, I bought this product off of his recommendation. I was a little nervous about a few things. For one I have the worlds Oiliest skin. I felt like dear klairs (my old sunscreen) did leave a bit of shine but it had controlled my oil better than any other sunscreen I tried... until now. This is the closest my skin has ever looked to โnormalโ as far as oiliness goes so props to that! I also was hesitant on this product because of the tint but also didnโt want a white cast. I would say Iโm light to medium with an olive undertone and I think it matches my skin really well! It almost looks like I have makeup on bc my skin tone much more even , but it doesnโt cover breakouts. I happened to have a few pimples (already had them ,not caused by the sunscreen) so you can see that the sunscreen doesnโt cover them completely but blurs/evens out the clear part of my skin. There is a slight white cast but I think the tint offsets it. . I couldnโt speak for other skin tones but I think if youโre light to medium/olive it matches really really well. Finally I love the texture, itโs almost velvety and doesnโt pull on the skin which I hate in a face sunscreen. Not too thick not too watery, and just feels nice to apply. So I donโt really have anything bad to say about this product, but Iโve only had it two days so Iโll have to see if it causes any breakouts ect. But so far I would highly recommend! Update: I have been using this for well over a year now, and I can never go back to anything else! It doesn't cause breakouts even when I've slept with it on by accident. I use it instead of a primer under my foundation, and it works amazing. I literally have no complaints; I have not gotten a sunburn since I started using this. I just reapply every few hours when I'm at the beach/pool. I love reapplying because it controls my oil and gives that blurred bb cream effect, I'm also able to put it under my eyes/on my eyelids without burning my eyes. I was never someone who got compliments on my skin, but that changed when I started using this along with the rest of my skincare routine (Shoutout Hyram!) I'm so glad I found this product! 2024 Update! Still loving and using this sunscreen! I decided to try a couple of different brands earlier this year just because I hadn't ever branched out after finding this product, but this remains the best-tinted sunscreen for oil control and pore blurring I've ever tried!

This has become my go to daily sunscreen
After first purchasing a year ago, this has become my daily go-to facial sunscreen while others just sit taking up space in my medicine cabinet. I have sensitive skin and severe reactions to chemical sunscreen and have been searching for the perfect mineral sunscreen for several years after starting tretinoin made my reaction to chemical sunscreen intolerable. I only recently figured out I am also highly sensitive to chemical boosters found in a lot of mineral sunscreens. Especially Butyloctyl salicylate. That one is a no-go for me and until I learned about chemical boosters found in a lot of "100 % mineral" sunscreens, could not figure out why some of my sunscreens made my face flush red and feel like it was on fire when I was in the sun. Lab Muffin is my hero. My skin is dry, mature, and sensitive with some lines/wrinkes, large pores, and rosacea. At first I thought this Sun Bum tinted mineral would be too drying as it has a very light texture vs being creamy. But it is not and the texture makes for a light but effective formula. PROS: - Mineral formula with no chemical boosters. - Does not settle in pores and wrinkles. After applying it settles slightly in lines, but a quick blend with a blending brush and it is good for the day. - Blends easily into hairline and brows. - Does not sting my eyes when I sweat and seems relatively sweat proof. -Does not transfer tint to clothes once it dries down. Even when I wipe away sweat.... nothing seems to come off. It is the only tinted mineral I have tried with little to no tint transfer. - Blends easily with a very soft silky texture that allows you to blend without any tugging on the skin like a lot of mineral formulas. - Matte finish but with a subtle glow. - Tint provides light coverage to even out skin, though does not cover everything. As someone who rarely wears makeup I appreciate the subtle coverage which does not look overdone but helps my skin look better. - Does not emphasize occasional tretinoin dry patches. Some of my other sunscreens (even tinted) seem to make dry patches look worse. This formula covers them without emphasizing (or irritating) them. - Does not feel heavy on my skin. I can't stand feeling sunscreen on my face (or anything which is the main reason I do not wear much makeup) and this formula is so light once it is on I forget it is there. -Light coverage lasts all day if I don't sweat. Needs some reapplication when sweating. -Does seem to provide SPF 30 coverage. With reports about sunscreens underperforming lately, this one does appear to work. I can burn in less than 15-20 minutes in full sun, but no problems with this sunscreen when reapplied after sweating or long sun exposure (I work outdoors as a field biologist, so this one is huge. While I usually wear a hat, it does not cover everything as I cannot use a wide brim hat for my work.) CONS: - The tube. It is not awful, but I always seem to get a build up of product in the cap no matter what I do. This seems like a waste of product, but is really a minor complaint. - It does separate, but states clearly to shake before use. It seems to mix easily, so this is not really a con, just a warning to give it a good shake. - Would love an option for an SPF 50, but again, minor complaint. Overall, this is by far the best mineral facial sunscreen I have found so far for my particular skin and is used daily. The only reason I ever use anything else is to try to use them up. Other brands I have tried include: Undefined R&R sun serum SPF 50 ( a little too "glowy", emphasizes pores, and has niacinimide which I have to use with caution), Naked Sundays Collagen Glow mineral sunscreen SPF 50 (heavier and feel it on skin, but is my go-to when I must have SPF 50), CoTZ Flawless Complexion SPF 50 (feels heavy and not waterproof. Also even though I can'y find any chemical boosters in ingredients, something in this one makes my skin feel like it is on fire when in the sun), Cocokind daily SPF 32 (ok for a non tinted formula as not much whitecast, but does feel heavier than I would like), Murad City Skin Age Defense SPF 50 ( just too expensive), Koh Gen Do Watery Spa UV SPF 50 (my go-to non tinted formula these days though I still feel it on my skin and not waterproof and think it has been reformulated recently), Vanicream Facial Moisturizer SPF 30 (too thick and heavy), Hero Force Shield SPF 30 (was my favorite next to the Sun Bum until I realized the reaction in the sun was from the chemical booster Butyloctyl salicylate ๐ฉ), Agency SilkScreen SPF 50 (was ok, a bit too greasy and not much coverage, but went to back of pack as it has chemical boosters), Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Pure Mineral SPF 50 (I loved this formula and purchased several times before finally learning the reaction in the sun was from chemical boosters), Cetaphil Sunscreen Face Drops SPF 50 (quit using due to flaming face in sun as this one also has chemical boosters), and Etude Sunprise SPF 50 (only used ocassionally due to fragrance, but liked this formula until I clued into chemical boosters).

Great tinted physical sunscreen
This is my new favorite sunscreen. It goes on matte, but is still easy to put on/not pasty. The tint is enough to get rid of the ghost look but not so much that it looks like fake tanner. It's a bit greasier feeling than I'd like but it doesn't look greasy at all so I'll take it.

A very good product
I'm happy with this and use it regularly. But it's not my holy grail sunscreen (which I haven't found yet). Pros: (1) it evens out skin tone like a light foundation (I don't use foundation, but I do have a BB cream, and this covers maybe a little more than that), (2) stays on very well (easiest to take off with make-up remover, e.g. micellar water), (3) the price is very reasonable. Cons: (1) it's a little finicky to put on - I have to make sure my other products have fully dried, and even then sometimes it flakes a little. (2) Up close I can see some settling into pores (but not wrinkles - I'm 49 and definitely have those). (3) It's a little bit light for my skin tone (I'm fair/medium caucasian) - but good for winter or if I want to increase my contrast.

Excellent sunscreen, my favorite
In search for a perfect tinted sunscreen I have tried just about every brand of tinted mineral sunscreen thatโs available here on Amazon, so you might recognize me from other reviews. I have a sensitive skin and canโt tolerate chemical sunscreen. I also have red and bumpy skin on my cheeks due to rosacea, so I need a tint to cover redness. Iโm really glad I finally decided to give Sunbum tinted sunscreen a try because it quickly became one of my favorites. My other favorite is MD Solar Science BB cream in shade Light. These two are quite similar, both are very silicone like, due to a great amount of dimethicone. They feel like primers and because of that are very sticky and hard to wash off your fingers. But both look very natural and skin like. MD Solar Science (light shade) is slightly darker while Sunbum is pretty pale but not in an unhealthy way. My skin is a bit darker than Sunbum shade right now. Yet it covers my rosacea and evens out my skin tone just enough. Itโs not drying but also not shiny, and because of that it doesnโt magnify wrinkles, which is a big plus: Iโm tired of tinted sunscreens highlighting the wrinkles I have that are not even noticeable without them. Sunbum is slightly lighter and provides a bit less coverage than MD Solar. It also doesnโt have much zinc, which was a point of criticism from popular bloggers. Because of that it might not be perfect for everyday wear. But if you want to have the most natural โno make upโ look and youโre light skinned, this is a great choice on the days when youโre not expecting to be under too much sun. I use retinol on my forehead at night and I didnโt get sunburnt when using this sunscreen. So the only concern here would be the gradually accumulated damage from the long UV-A rays. Another thing I like is that unlike MD Solar, Sunbum doesnโt contain vitamin C and therefore doesnโt irritate my sensitive skin. Itโs also less expensive. I will keep repurchasing. Note: in the unfiltered photo attached here, you can see the sunscreen after a 5 hour wear, that included eating, touching my face etc, so itโs a bit worn off and the redness on my cheeks is more visible. Even when freshly applied it didnโt cover redness completely because of being light coverage sunscreen.

Light and Feels like whipped butter - Tinted
Love the tinted type of this. Soft and creamy to put on my face and feels lighweight. Color is not overwhelming.

100% invisible, matte sun protection! :)
EDIT 05/29/22: I'm updating my review and lowering my rating to 3 stars. Unfortunately after several weeks of daily usage, the sunscreen began to separate inside the tube. I can feel it sloshing around in the tube. If it's not shaken up properly, a gross oily liquid comes out from the top. I have to shake it up each time to make sure all the ingredients are mixed together. At this point I'm concerned that the sunscreen formula isn't evenly distributed and I'm not sure if what I'm getting is full sun protection or just color tint. It's a shame because I really love the matte finish. This is still my go-to sunscreen for casual daily usage, but the separation of ingredients makes me think I might have to try the untinted version next time. --- ORIGINAL REVIEW: After years of searching for a sunscreen that won't turn my face into a shiny, oily mess, I've finally found the perfect sunscreen. I've tried all kinds of sunscreensโmineral and chemicalโeven the ones that claim to be "matte" and all of them made my face look awful. Sticky, shiny, and just gross. I tend to skip sunscreen unless I'm swimming because otherwise I just hate the way it makes my face look. But this is the solution I've been looking for! I bought the tinted mineral version. It spreads smoothly on my skin with a wonderfully light texture. The tint is very, very subtle and it disappeared into my skin within minutes. Nobody will be able to tell you have it on. Best of all, there's no shine, no oily residue, it's completely matte. I don't even need to wear makeup primer because this seems to create a perfect base for my skin. I'm so happy I found this. I'd recommend it to anyone. It's completely gender neutral and the tint seems to do a great job of balancing out that famous chalky whiteness most mineral sunscreens have. There was no white residue at all on my face, even at the end of the day. It's amazing. Oh, and it's unscented, too. I saw a couple of reviews that mentioned a damaged or expired product. Mine came in a box that was slightly crushed, but the tube itself was in perfect condition and had a foil seal on the tip. It has an expiration of 03/2024. Amazon.com was the seller. Get this sunscreen and enjoy your summer! :)

High performance, low slime
This sits well under makeup and you can use the recommended 1/4 tsp without becoming a slime monster. Performance: This is a tinted sunscreen and I have fair skin, I was concerned it would leave an orange cast but no! Caution when applying near white fabric please, this does stain - although there is no transferring after application. This sunscreen applies well and sinks in, I havent burnt using this sunscreen Chemistry/skin safe rating: This is a mineral sunscreen so much better for everyday use than chemical sunscreens (check out the EWG website for more information here). I am conscious about the ingredients I use on my skin, especially those in use everyday. This sunscreen is very effective while being skin safe. In a perfect world it would be non-nano zinc oxide but then it would sit on the surface of the skin/take longer to sink in and you would inevitably use less... so, nano it is!

Would buy again.
Uses up quite quick and have to watch the colour getting on things, but is def matt. It is actually not as tinted as expected when goes on. Makes makeup on top a little slidey(easier to come off) sometimes. I would buy again though.
