The link between the whistle and the lever that pulls it open is very thin and delicate. Indeed, my unit arrived (after numerous delays) with this link broken. Not wanting to wait several more weeks for an exchange, I decided to repair it. Not only is the link thin, it is saturated with mold release which inhibits epoxy hardening. The solution is to set the parts using Krazy Glue. Then, using a new tube of 5 Minutes Epoxy, I built the link and let it sit or an overnight. It is holding beautifully. Having said all that, this katrle is a beautiful piece of art. It is built to very high standards of quality and finish. It is almost too beautiful to be used. Yes, it is ugly in its own way, but perfect in execution. I am proud to own such a beautiful piece of art, even if it is only for a short time.

The tea pot arrived and there is a dent in the side. Decided to try it and the whistle was not out at all. I am trying one more time and will update if the whistle improves. Does pour well and I didn’t get any hot steam on me. It’s a nice thickness and appears to be a good quality, looks nice in my kitchen. I just need no dent and the whistle to be loud enough to hear. ** after allowing the tea pot to sit a bit longer on the stove the whistle is plenty loud - I just didn’t give it enough time.

Its beautiful and works great. Love the old fashioned whistle sound. Easy to clean if you follow the directions. I leave it on the stove top as decoration.

I bought the stainless with gold and it looks more like bronze accents than gold. It is very good looking on the outside. The inside is made of food grade stainless steel said the description on Amazon but looks more like a gray Teflon coating. It seems to work out fine for now but not sure how well it will hold up over time. The whistle is not very loud and that upsets me but very few tea pots are loud these days. The price point is very reasonable at $20. I am keeping the tea pot but took a star off for the discrepancy about what the inside is made of and the whistle not being loud. It gets the job done.

Value is perfect, quality is amazing, the handle gets a little hot but not too bad, Functions well and easy to use. Holds enough water for multiple uses

This kettle looks great and has worked perfectly. I ignored instructions to only use medium heat and to empty and dry and clean after each use--nobody does that. I boil water on high and leave the rest in the kettle for next time. I am a little worried that the inside is not stainless steel but stainless steel coated with a grey material or paint but it has held up under above use since purchase 2 months ago. I will chime in with a revised review if it deteriorates. The whistle is shrill and piercing--enough to wake the dead and be heard down the hall even when headphones are on. Of course if you are close you can shut it down before it reaches banshee level but for me that's a plus. It take just a little bit longer to whistle because the spout is elevated and in pouring you need to be careful not to let the steam float back over your hand--but that's easy to do without mittens.

It's a beautiful kettle. I like that you can lift and drop the nozzle cover very easily. However, I have never seen a stovetop kettle (I only use stovetop, not electric) to have what looks like a spray painted coating, or non-stick matt coating inside, rather than being very shiny as I am used to. I am worried if I should be drinking water from this as I've never seen this before and don't know if it should be there. I thought my water tasted slightly off, despite washing, boiling, and pouring out a few times first. I would appreciate more information please.
