This dog trimmer guard has been a great addition to our grooming supplies. I got the Andis clippers a long time ago. They came with a 25 blade. Well, I didn't know much about blades, but it didn't seem to work too well and I gave up on the thing that was quite costly for a farm. After my research, I found this 40 blade and it was totally worth the price. I first tried it on myself without a guard to see if I might get a little cut or not. It was just fine and cut the hair off my arm like nothin' doin' It wasn't hot at all, I've never tried a ceramic blade and I have to say I love it. I was confident enough to shave a spot of matted fur off the dear farm cat that I could not get out. He just ate out of his bowl like nothin was going on. I clipped that stubborn patch and was so very thankful for this affordable 40 ceramic blade that has now also put my Andis clipper to good use! Win-Win-Win!

Blade was nice and sharp, which is not the norm for me with other brands, so I'm happy I didn't have to have a new blade sharpened immediately. They are quiet and give a nice clean cut.

These blades are crap! I ordered 2 pair to shave my 8 month old Golden Retriever who was just groomed last week l so he is nice and clean. I ordered 2 pair so as they got warm I could switch pairs. He has almost no undercoat and these blades can't even clip through his clean and unmatted coat. They are pulling more of his hair that cutting so I am having to go super slow which is causing the blades to get hot faster. I will be returning them! I wouldn't pay $5.00 for another pair of these blades!

It works, but not the best I’ve gotten.

The absurd comment about plastic on the back haha... it's ceramic. Know what you're buying. Ceramic doesn't get as hot as steel. I've cut my dog about 6 years straight - every 8-12 weeks and still kickin. It's decently durable. As far as not cutting - start with clean and brushed fur. It gets a little hot, but not like metal.

Blade will not cut even my own few hair strands it's so dull, I just threw it out. Very disappointed.
