MEDCENTER Talking Alarm Clock for Medication & Senior Reminders

My father-in-law was recently diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor. He was prescribed several new medicines and had to take pills five times a day for a while. My mother-in-law was so worried about forgetting to give his medicine to him, so I ordered this alarm clock. It has really helped ease her worries and let her relax without constantly looking at the clock. We were only able to set four alarms with this device, but we had decided we could easily remember the ones he takes first thing in the morning so we set the alarms for the other four times (8:30am, 3pm, 8:30pm, and 11pm). The alarms were easy to set and went off as scheduled. It was loud enough that we could hear it if we were in the back of the apartment or if we had dozed off. The doctor recently made med changes and my father-in-law now only takes medicine twice a day. I was easily able to turn off two of the alarms that we no longer need. The only little issue we've come across is that on a few occasions, one of the alarms will go off four minutes late. For example, one evening, the #3 alarm started blinking at 8:30 pm, but the sound did not go off until 8:34pm. This has happened about five times over the past month. Those 4 minutes are not a big deal to us, but we cannot figure out why it does this. Even so, I would definitely recommend this product!

So far, I've been pleased with this Med Center medication reminder. I wanted a dual alarm and debated whether to buy an alarm clock with a dual alarm or a device like this. For our situation, this is the better option. My husband doesn't always remember to take his meds. He's on a blood thinner so it's very important that he doesn't miss a dose. My days are busy and I don't always think to check his pill boxes to see if he took the daily dose. So basically, this device is to remind me to check to see if he took his meds and if not, remind him to do so. With this Med Center alarm device, I can set the time I want the alarm to go off. There are 4 pre-set alarms which you can use as they are or change them to suit your needs. Also, if you don't need all 4 alarms you can cancel those that you don't need. We only needed the morning and evening alarms, so I cancelled the 2 in-between. I didn't find it difficult to set up the device. If you have set a regular alarm clock, you will find this process to be much the same. I didn't see in the pamphlet instructions for how to cancel the 2 pre-set alarms. "Google" helped out with how to do that. When the alarm goes off you are to push the red button, which acknowledges that you heard the alarm. A message will play saying when the next alarm is set to go off and what the current time is. If we are away from the house when the alarm goes off, the device will beep off and on for 1 hour. If you plan to be away for an extended period of time and want to turn the device off, this can be done by moving a switch on the back to the "off" position. The digital display shows the day of the week in large letters. The date is also large. The time is also displayed but smaller in size. I did not purchase the medication containers, only the alarm device. I did purchase the adapter and cord as I preferred to plug it into an outlet. I also put in batteries in case the power goes out or I want to unplug it to move it to another room, so I don't have to re-set it.

Not as good as the previous model. Only has one morning alarm and four alarms overall. The loud alarm isn't that loud, but an OK product.

Easy to set up and use. Really a help for folks will forgetfulness or memory issues. The voice is clear and the light is bright enough.

Decent quality, easy to set up. Helps my 93 year old mother considerably to remember to take pills.

Worked for about a week. Then started to go off at different times and would not shut off. piece of junk.

My mom has very little eyesight and needs help remembering her medication. This is perfect.

Good alarm to remind people it's time to take their meds. Really big numbers that are easy to read.
